      • Equipment was observed with visible buildup of hair while being used on multiple clients at the time of inspection. This indicates accumulation from successive uses without proper cleaning. Ensure all equipment is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between each client to prevent cross-contamination and maintain sanitary conditions.

      • The Barbicide disinfectant solution was reported to have been prepared the previous day. According to manufacturer instructions, a fresh disinfectant solution must be prepared daily. Ensure the solution is regularly maintained and replaced to remain effective, and verify that it is at the proper concentration prior to use.

      • 1. Paper towels for the handwashing sink were observed hung on a mop bucket rather than stored in a proper dispenser. Ensure paper towels are stored in a clean, designated dispenser to prevent contamination and promote proper hand hygiene.2. A bottle observed in use was not labeled and was determined to contain only water. Ensure all chemical and solution containers are clearly labeled with their contents, and that approved products are used as intended to ensure effective cleaning and disinfection.

      • 1. There was a significant amount of hair present on clippers that were being sprayed with clippercide. A brush was present to help remove hair from the clippers. Clippercide was then left on the clipper for an unknown length of time.Ensure clippers are thoroughly cleaned with all hair removed prior to disinfection. Once sprayed with clippercide, the clippers must remain wet for at least 10 minutes to achieve effective disinfection. During busy times, clippers may have to be rotated to achieve the contact time.2. There was some hair buildup in one container of barbicide. Ensure combs and other items are thoroughly cleaned after use with no hair present prior to immersion in barbicide.A fresh solution of barbicide was prepared during inspection.
