What these findings mean

Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.

  • Food temperature controlHigher risk

Bacteria multiply fastest between about 4 °C and 60 °C (40 °F to 140 °F). Inspectors check that cold food stays cold, hot food stays hot, cooked food is cooled quickly, and that staff have accurate thermometers. Temperature problems are one of the most common causes of food poisoning, so these are treated as critical findings.

    Recorded once on August 21, 2026. For example: 205 - Cold potentially hazardous food stored/displayed above 4 °C. [s. 14(2)]

  • Protecting food from contaminationHigher risk

This covers how food is stored, prepared and displayed: raw meat kept away from ready-to-eat food, food covered and stored off the floor, and nothing dripping or splashing into it. Cross-contamination from raw to cooked food is a direct route for salmonella and E. coli.

Recorded once on August 21, 2026. For example: 209 - Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]

  1. Routine Inspection

    2 infractions

    • 205 - Cold potentially hazardous food stored/displayed above 4 °C. [s. 14(2)]
      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): 1. The large buckets of the housemade BBQ sauce with fresh garlic and the soy sauce with fresh onion were being stored at room temperature, which can allow pathogens to develop.
      • 2. The freshly grated garlic was being stored at room temperature that can allow pathogens to develop.
      • Corrective Action(s): - The operator moved the BBQ sauce, soy sauce, and fresh garlic into the walk-in cooler
      • - Store potentially hazardous foods in the cooler at 4 degrees Celsius or less, and keep smaller containers out during service.
      • - Do not store potentially hazardous foods at room temperature for more than 4 hours
      • Violation Score: 5
    • 209 - Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]
      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): The spoon for the cooked rice was being stored in the rice cooker's holder at room temperature. The operator stated that the spoon is cleaned after each use. Keeping the spoon at room temperature can allow pathogens to grow on the spoon, which can contaminate the cooked rice.
      • Corrective Action(s): - The operator placed the used spoon into the dishwasher, and changed the spoon for a new spoon
      • - Keep utensils used for scooping cooked foods, including the cooked rice spoon, in ice water. Once the ice melts, add more ice.
      • Violation Score: 3
      • 306 - Food premises not maintained in a sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
      • Observation: A sticky substance has accumulated under the ice machine, and some food debris has accumulated under and behind the dishwasher. Food debris can attract and help pests to survive within the premises.
      • Corrective Action(s): Thoroughly clean throughout the premises, including the areas listed, to remove all sticky substances and food debris.
      • Violation Score: 3
      • 308 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces are not in good working order [s. 16(b)]
      • Observation: 1. The tile in the walk-in cooler is broken and wobbly.
      • 2. There was duct tape over the chest meat freezer handle. The tape was fraying. Surfaces should be smooth, durable, and easily cleanable.
      • Corrective Action(s): 1. Repair the tile so it is smooth, durable, and easily cleanable. Date to be corrected: 1 month
      • 2. The operator removed the duct tape from the freezer handle. Repair the handle so it is smooth, durable, and easily cleanable.
