      • Water temperature in the Dove Room was measuring between 15-16 degrees Celsius and was cold to the touch. DO THE FOLLOWING:1. Ensure that hot and cold water is available for handwashing.

    • 04. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Non-Critical)?
      • Caterpillar room 2 bathroom: mop, mop bucket, and a toilet brush were observed in the bathroom next to the toilets.This was corrected during the inspection and removed by the staff.DO THE FOLLOWING:1. Ensure that toilet brushes and plungers are kept out of reach of children to prevent any bacterial fecal contamination.2. Ensure that cleaning equipment is kept out of reach of children to prevent physical or bacterial hazards.
    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • Bunny room:Staff was observed changing diapers and did not wash hands in between changing children. Only gloves were changed. A diapering procedure was posted on the wall next to the change table. Staff was educated on washing hands in between changing diapers. Gloves are not a replacement for handwashing. DO THE FOLLOWING:1. Ensure hands are washed prior to and after glove usage and that hands are washed in between changing each child.2. Disinfect the surface using the approved sanitizer after each use and change the liner between each child.

      • Panda room: Safety belts in on the change mat were in disrepair. This was corrected during the inspection. The change mat was discarded and replaced with a new one.DO THE FOLLOWING:1. Ensure that safety belts are in good working order to be able to secure the children when diapering.

      • Caterpillar room 1: Mold was observed on the wall behind the handwash sink. DO THE FOLLOWING:1. Ensure that the source of the water damage is identified and the mold is cleaned, and the wall is repaired.

      • Tape was observed on the floor of the bathroom in Caterpillar room 1. This was corrected during the inspection and the tape was removed. DO THE FOLLOWING:1. Ensure that all floors are smooth and easy to clean.

      • Unicorn room: Countertop corner was being held using tape.DO THE FOLLOWING:1. Ensure that the tape is removed to allow for a smooth, easy surface for cleaning. 2. Repair the corner of the countertop

      • Penguin room first aid kit had an expired gauze strip. This was corrected during the inspection. DO THE FOLLOWING:1. Ensure that first aid kits are routinely inspected for expiry dates.

      • Foam toys located in the penguin room were in disrepair. The foam toys were discarded during the inspection.

      • .1. Some of the change table matts were ripped, or not in a condition to facilitate proper cleaning and disinfection. Damaged matts were discarded and replaced with new matts during the inspection. Please ensure matts are frequently assessed for tears.2. The change table located in the unicorn room was dirty. Please clean and disinfect change table.

      • The potty-training toilet seat in the beaver room had a tear. The toilet seat was removed during the inspection.

      • The concentration of bleach in sanitizing spray bottles was very high.This was corrected during the inspection, and sanitizing solutions were diluted. This was done for all spray bottles in the facility.
