- No written procedures for the following tasks:-client care in the event of an accidental skin cut or puncture -decontamination of any sink that will be used for both handwashing and equipment reprocessingProvide written procedures for the following issues.
- 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
- 1) Reprocessing sink was not operational and was used for storage of items. The hot and cold-water taps were turned off and the water won't drain after the water is turned back on. Fix the reprocessing sink so it can be used to reprocess tools. 2) Drill bits were placed back on the holder without cleaning and disinfecting. 2) PREempt HLD 5 was expired since April 25, 2023. A bottle of PREempt CS20 was available with expiry date of March 2026.Discard the PREempt HLD 5 and use PREempt CS20 to disinfect the manicure and pedicure tools.3) Disinfectant container was placed in the washroom. Please make space by the reprocessing sink,4) The manicure table was lined with three layers of single use liners. So table was not cleaned and disinfected after each client. Line the table with one liner and discard liner and clean table after each client. 5) Decorative pillow and fabric cover was on the pedicure chair. The chair is not cleaned and disinfected after each client.Provide washable covers for pillows and sit covers.

- 1) The reprocessing sink was used to store items, both hot and cold-water taps were turned off and the sink do not drain properly.Fix the sink and ensure it's available for reprocessing manicure and pedicure tools 2) Clutter noted around the sink, no space for drying and disinfecting the tools at the sink.Organize the space and provide an area for drying and disinfecting the tools.
