      • Previously noted, not checked at this time:***There were some areas of disrepair in the OSC area where the carpet was frayed/in disrepair. There was damage by the exterior sliding door of the OSC.

      • ***There were some areas of disrepair in the OSC area where the carpet was frayed/in disrepair. There was damage by the exterior sliding door of the OSC.

      • ***There were cleaning needed for the toy bins (OSC area). The toys themselves appeared clean but there was a build up of debris on/in the containers. Ensure that the bins are washed and sanitized often enough to ensure they are maintained in a clean and sanitary condition.

      • ***There was some dirt build up on the plastic container for sensory play in the toddler area closest to the kitchen.

      • ***there were containers in the OSC area that had been damaged/broken. The damaged/broken containers are to be removed/replaced with undamaged bins.

      • ***The slide in the toddler area was higher than 18 inches (this height does require fall zone surfacing). Discussed options. Removal, installation of an effective fall zone cushioning surface.

      • ***The warm water temperature for children's hand washing was not being maintained at an acceptable temperature (it was 30C). Warm water for washing children’s hands is to be between 38C and 43C.

      • ***There was a fire extinguisher that was hanging by the hose. Operator was informed and corrected immediately.

      • ***It was noted at this time that one of the small toilets was constantly running at high pressure. Discussed correction with staff.Staff indicated that they had had a water shut off and this had started when the water was turned back on to the facility.

      • ***There was no sanitizer residual on the wet high chair trays. Checked the sanitizer concentration in the spray bottle by the diaper change area and there was no sanitizer present. Discussed with the manager who corrected the solution right away.

      • Jun 2024Discussed that the carpet in the daycare needed a plan for correction, there was more disrepair noted in the entryway where the carpet went up the wall. This created uncleanable areas and potential harborage for vermin. There was carpet in disrepair in the OSC area (by the stairs).May 2024***There were areas of disrepair between the carpet floor and the lino floor (transition strips appear to be inadequate especially in the toddler area). There were some areas of disrepair in the OSC area where the carpet was frayed/in disrepair.

      • Jun 2024Discussed the shelving unit and it had been ordered and delivered, just waiting to put together and remove the older unit.***The yellow shelving unit in the older infant room were worn\in disrepair, the paint had come off and the pressboard was exposed.

      • ***There were no paper towels present in the daycare washroom.

      • ***There were worn furnishings present in the out of school care area. The black couch had the finishes peeling off. The black covered foam chair had holes present with the foam exposed (chair was observed by the garbage bin following the inspection).

      • ***discussed the three sided house and the bracing to help ensure that the unit was stable. Staff moved a table to ensure one of the walls was stopped from moving out.

      • ***The paper towels are to be stored in a dispenser to reduce the chance of contamination.
