- Observation(s): F2.2B - Gaps in both rear area receiving doors. Gaps may allow for pest entry. Rear receiving doors must be sealed to prevent the entry of pests. Replace door sweep/weather stripping to seal all gaps, no day light should be visible.

- Observation(s): F2.5B - More frequent cleaning is required for the meat grinder, there was an accumulation of dried ground meat product. The wall of the walk in refrigerator behind the meat grinder are not easily cleanable, a stainless steal backsplash (or other smooth easily material) should be installed behind the meat grinder to easily clean meat splatter. Wooden shelving is present throughout the premises (walk in coolers, walk in freezer). This shelving may absorb moisture and cannot be effectively cleaned and sanitized. All food contact surfaces must be smooth and easily cleanable. White cutting boards in the produce processing area are deeply grooved. Grooves may harbor pathogenic bacteria and are difficulty to sanitize. These cutting boards must be replaced or resurfaced F2.5C - Wiping cloths in continual use left on counter in produce processing area. Cloths in continual use may harbor pathogenic bacteria and must be stored in sanitizer when not in use. F2.5G - Ground sausages are stored in open containers in the butcher shop walk in. Raw meat was also found uncovered in the walk in freezer. All foods must be covered when stored to prevent contamination.

- Observation(s): Quats sanitizer bucket in butcher area was at 100ppm. Quats is required to be 200ppm. Ensure the sanitizer concentration is verified more often. The solution should be changed more often. Add a new cloth whenever the solution is changed. Wiping cloths kept in bucket of sanitizer. Reviewed 3-compartment dishwashing procedure.

- Observation(s): 1. The white cutting board/table in the back produce area is very grooved. This makes it difficult to properly clean and sanitize - Replace or resurface 2. The small white cutting board (hanging up) in the produce area is very grooved - Please replace 3. The produce cooler has wooden pallets. This area is subject to lots of moisture with ice melting. The wood can absorb the moisture and become moldy. All surfaces must be smooth, easy to clean and impervious to moisture. 4. The walk in cooler and freezer in the back have wood shelves which can not be easily cleaned. It is preferable that the shelves not be solid as that impedes air flow.

- Observation(s): F3.4C Deli walk-in cooler shelving should be slatted to ensure adequate air circulation to cool foods quickly. Produce walk-in cooler shelving has mould growth in some areas. Clean and sanitize. *Recommend the following: • Ideally, all walk-in coolers should be constructed with smooth, tight cleanable wall and ceiling material with stainless steel. poly coated or carbonate slatted shelving to facilitate easy cleaning and improved air circulation. • The meat department warewashing sink area ideally should be equipped with a third compartment sink with dirty and sanitize drain boards to help facilitate easier and more efficient warewashing by staff. F3.4F Produce preparation area plastic cutting board is visibly worn and is due for repair or replacement.

My review is for Askews Bakery. Both my boyfriend and I have Birthdays in May, at the start of the month we ordered the Odessa cake for his which was super delicious and he thoroughly enjoyed it! My birthday was just this past weekend and I ordered the Cream Cheese cake. The cake was amazing, decorated beautifully and tasted so good! Both cakes were fantastic. Totally worth the money if you want something a little nicer than any other grocery store bakery cake. Quality and price is far superior than other places.

Now that Askews runs the bakery they are out of bread. Why? Who knows. It's like the people that run this store don't eat. Well as an update we know have chocolate chip cookies packaged in the oatmeal raisin package and white bread labelled as brown bread. This is how you solve the lack of brown bread. You package your white bread as brown. Super job guys....

So proud to have this store in our community. All staff is friendly and helpful. Staff in meat department goes above and beyond to accommodate a customer. Store is always growing with new ideas. Congrats to the Deli for making the Rice Paper Wraps...they were delicious!!

It's unfortunate that I can only give 2 stars because I like supporting local, but the items are waaaay overpriced....especially for the main grocery store in town where many people have no choice but to shop. That, and the staff are seemingly untrained and unknowledgeable about promotions that the store is offering AT THE TILL. The meat is top quality, that's about it.

It's well stocked gerocery store. It's very good size, great staff & well organized layout. No shortage of parking spaces. It also has one of the best bakery I ever been. If you pass by Armstrong, you must stop & try one of delicious baked goods.

Very clean store. It could do with a sign letting you know that the bakery is a separate store inside the store, to avoid confusion at the till. Honestly though there might be one and I just didn't notice. Very fresh produce and some interesting things I hadn't seen in other stores.

I love coming here. Great small town service with fine selection of healthy and homemade foods. If you get hungry while shopping here make sure to go for some excellent gourmet coffee and try the chicken cordon Bleu sandwich at the in-store bakery, to die for!
