  1. Demand Inspection

    1 infraction

    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • No - there was one (1) 'fresh' dead mouse observed in a metal rodent trap in the small storage closet (under the stored shelving unit of 'soda pop boxed bags') in the side public corridor, near the public washrooms. This was a second occurrence in the past few months (as per the most recent AHS inspection), in which the pest control technician had discarded the dead mouse and added 'chicken wire' over the floor drain. As the floor drain was adequately covered, and no apparent structural issues at the baseboards, there may be a smaller conduit opening for piping in the floor under the shelving unit that must be covered as well. The operator is to ensure the pest control technician is advised of this issue and to ensure more thorough 'vermin-proofing' of the storage closet area.

    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • Yes (corrected during inspection) - there was one (1) dead rodent (mouse) on a glue-board in a metal rodent trap in the storage closet located in the side corridor (used for rack storage of soda pop boxes/bags used in automated injection machine units at front service counter). There was no other observation or evidence of any rodent activity or droppings anywhere inside the food premises, and no known or observed issues of lack of vermin-proofing. The operator was to discard the glue-board with the dead rodent and discuss any other additional measures with the pest control company on service contract at this food premises.
    • 23. Is the facility maintained in a clean and sanitary condition?
      • Yes (corrected during inspection) - there was evidence of some previous limited rodent (mouse) activity in the storage closet at the side corridor area, with the floor section to be washed and sanitized in this storage closet (used for storage of soda pop boxes/bags used in the automatic injection machines at service counter area).
