2 of 3 inspections on record found no infractions at all. In the past 12 months there were 2 inspections with 5 infractions recorded. The higher-risk findings here relate to: Pests.
What these findings mean
Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.
PestsHigher risk
Signs of mice, rats, cockroaches or flies, or gaps and clutter that let them get in or hide. Pests carry bacteria and can contaminate food and surfaces, so evidence of activity is treated seriously and usually triggers a follow-up visit.
Recorded once on October 9, 2026. For example:
Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
Food safety training and certificationLower risk
Most jurisdictions require a certified food handler or manager on site, and some require allergen or food-worker training. These findings mean the paperwork or the trained person was missing at the time. They do not by themselves mean food was handled unsafely.
Recorded 2 times on October 9, 2026. For example:
Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Non-Critical)?
Equipment and utensilsLower risk
Equipment has to be built from cleanable materials, kept in good repair and stored properly. These findings are mostly about upkeep, like a cracked shelf, a worn gasket or utensils stored the wrong way. They are generally lower risk but show how well the kitchen is maintained.
Recorded once on October 9, 2026. For example:
Are utensils and equipment maintained in a condition and a manner that ensures the safe handling of food?
Building, plumbing and upkeepLower risk
Floors, walls and ceilings must be smooth and clean, with working lighting, ventilation, plumbing, hot and cold water, and washrooms. These are rarely an immediate food-safety risk on their own, but persistent problems can lead to pest or sanitation issues.
Recorded once on October 9, 2026. For example:
Is the facility maintained in a clean and sanitary condition?

- 08. Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Non-Critical)?
- -Some food items, such as ketchup, cookies, crackers, rice crispies, etc were kept in the storage room along with crafts, toys and other items not associated with food. Food items must be kept in a designated area separate from non-food items such as crafts, toys, etc, to prevent contamination.
- 13. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) accessible to food handlers, located in suitable areas, and stocked with appropriate hand washing supplies?
- -The brown cabinet in front of the paper towel dispenser next to the kitchen handwash sink was blocked with party items being used for Thanksgiving. Remove all items in front of the paper towel dispenser and keep it free from any obstructions at all times to encourage proper handwashing by ensuring it is convenient for drying hands.
- 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
- -There were numerous fruit flies in the kitchen, particularly in the recycle bin. It was indicated by staff that they empty the recycle bin every 3 days. Discard the contents of the recycle bin every day to reduce the number of flies. Clean the recycle bin thoroughly inside and out to prevent attracting flies. Contact a pest control company to put in measures to reduce the number of flies.-There is no pest control plan available for monitoring or controlling pests in the facility. You must have a pest control plan in place, whether that is having a pest control company conduct this, or conducting the monitoring and implementing the control measures yourself. You must maintain and keep records of the pest monitoring/control measures being implemented and have this available for Inspectors to review.
- 22. Are utensils and equipment maintained in a condition and a manner that ensures the safe handling of food?
- -Some utensils were found to not be properly washed. There was a spatula in the kitchen in a clean bin that had a build up of food. There was also a spoon in the toddler room in a clean bin that also had a build up of food. All utensils and food equipment must be thoroughly cleaned after each use using the 3 step/3 sink method so that they are properly washed, rinsed and sanitized in order to remove food and germs. -Food equipment such as plastic food clings and aluminum foil were stored in a drawer close to the kitchen door with non-food items, such as a used umbrella, toy cars, etc. Food equipment must be stored in a designated area, away from other items to prevent contamination.
- 23. Is the facility maintained in a clean and sanitary condition?
- -The kitchen/staff room as well as the storage room were cluttered. You must reduce the number of items you have and properly organize these areas to allow for proper cleaning to take place and to prevent attracting pests. -You must develop a cleaning checklist and schedule for the kitchen/staff room to help ensure that it is kept clean.
