    • 08. Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Non-Critical)?
      • There was a bag of onion, several coffee bags and a bag of sugar stored directly on the floor in the basement area. Food must be stored at least 6 inches above the floor to protect it from contamination. The operator placed the food items on the crate at the time of the inspection.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • There was a gap on the bottom of the back exit door. All entry points must be tightly fitted to prevent the entry of pests. Repair/replace the weatherstripping or install a door sweep.
    • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
      • The lighting levels near the back exit door were not working. Lighting levels must be at a sufficient level to facilitate cleaning and monitoring of pests. Replace the light bulbs.

      • Bleach was measured at 0 ppm.A new solution was prepared by the operator which was tested at 100ppm.-Ensure that the bleach solution is maintained at 100ppm.
    • 22. Are utensils and equipment maintained in a condition and a manner that ensures the safe handling of food?
      • Food debris was stuck on the meat slicer.-Clean the meat slicer.
