    • 33(2) The operator must ensure that all refrigeration and heat-holding equipment has a temperature measuring device that is accurate and in good repair.
      • In accordance with Section 4.1.11 of the Nova Scotia Food Services and Food Retail Code, you must: have a functioning thermometer to temp food products. (Probe thermometer)
    • Hygiene and Hand Washing Hand washing is an important part of safe food handling. Caregivers and children must always wash their hands before preparing and eating food. Children should be supervised during hand washing. Hand washing must be done at hand sinks that are separate from sinks used for food preparation. Staff who change diapers should not prepare food. Where this is not possible, staff shall prepare and serve food only after thoroughly washing their hands.
      • Ensure paper towel is stored in a paper towel dispenser. (Stand free dispenser)
