      • The grease interceptor on the west side of the dishwashing area is starting to corrode. It appears as though it may be leaking.Have the grease interceptor assessed by a qualified professional. Repair or replace if necessary.

      • There was a sewer gas odour by the grease interceptor and dishwasher in the dishwashing area.Have the source of the sewer gas odour investigated and abate the source.

      • There was no detergent hooked up to the kitchen dishwasher. There were two containers of rinse aid, and one container of sanitizer.Detergent was hooked up to the dishwasher during the inspection.
    • 13. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) accessible to food handlers, located in suitable areas, and stocked with appropriate hand washing supplies?
      • The paper towel dispenser for the hand wash sink located at the entrance to the kitchen was empty of paper towels.Paper towels were refilled during inspection. Ensure that all handwashing sinks are stocked with hand washing supplies at all times.
    • 13. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) accessible to food handlers, located in suitable areas, and stocked with appropriate hand washing supplies?
      • There was no paper towel dispenser installed at the upper bar hand wash sink.Install a paper towel dispenser at the upper bar hand wash sink.

      • There was a sewer gas odour by the grease interceptors. The grease interceptors had last been cleaned July 27, 2024.Investigate the source of, and abate the sewer gas odour.

      • There was grease, soil, and food debris on the floor under the kitchen dishwasher.Clean the floor under the kitchen dishwasher and ensure this area is cleaned on a regular basis.

    • 08. Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Non-Critical)?
      • The facility was using bowls as bulk scoops for the flour and rice located in the upstairs main kitchen. Please ensure all bulk scoops have handles to prevent food handlers coming in contact with the food item when they are scooping from the bulk bin.
    • 11. Are there adequate and properly operating dish washing facilities to effectively clean and sanitize equipment and utensils (unless noted elsewhere)(Critical)?
      • The chlorine-based sanitizing mechanical dishwasher located in the kitchen was tested at 0ppm chlorine was detected. The sanitizer concentrate was low in the container and the syphoning tube was not reaching the bottom of the container. The tube was re-adjusted, the line was primed, and the dishwasher was re-tested. 100ppm chlorine was detected. An extra container of sanitizer concentrate was available onsite as well to replace the current one.
    • 13. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) accessible to food handlers, located in suitable areas, and stocked with appropriate hand washing supplies?
      • The hot water tap at the hand sink in the main kitchen upstairs located on the wall between the cook line and prep/dishwashing area was not functional at the time of the inspection. Please repair the hand sink such that both hot and cold water are available.
    • 13. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) accessible to food handlers, located in suitable areas, and stocked with appropriate hand washing supplies?
      • The paper towel dispenser was not operational in the staff washroom located at the back of the kitchen. Paper towel could not be accessed at this hand sink. Please ensure all of the hand sinks are fully stocked with paper towel, liquid hand soap, and running hot/cold water to facilitate proper hand washing by staff.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • Quite a few small flies were observed in the upstairs kitchen around the dishwashing area. The facility has a contract with a professional pest control company who has been contacted about the fly issue. Please work with the pest control company to abate the fly issue.
    • 19. Does the facility have a valid permit and does the facility operate in compliance with the conditions of that permit, or is the facility awaiting approval prior to operation?
      • October 18th, 2023: The facility has posted the previous inspection report but not the food handling permit. Please print and post a copy of your valid food handling permit. Food handling permit was not posted in the facility. Please print and post a copy of your valid food handling permit in a visible location.
    • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
      • A light cover was missing in the kitchen along the cook line. Please install a light cover on the light fixture to prevent contamination in the event of a light bulb breaking.
