      • No written procedures for skin cleansing prior to services and accidental cuts were available.
    • 16. Is reusable equipment handled and stored properly (Non-Critical)?
      • Waxing bed had a cloth cover, which was stained and covered in nail dust. Ensure that all surfaces are maintained in sanitary condition: re-usable cloths covers have to be washed after each client and maintained in clean condition. Alternatively, single-use bed covers can be used instead.
    • 17. Is reusable equipment cleaned properly (Critical)?
      • The pedicure bath fans were not properly cleaned prior to disinfection: pedicure fans observed in drying basket were oily to the touch. Ensure that the pedicure bath fans are disassembled, washed with soap and water, rinsed and then disinfected with Preempt RTU.

      • Manufacturer's instructions for use of Preempt CS20 disinfectant were not followed: tools were not fully immersed into the disinfectant. Ensure that the tools are fully immerse during disinfection. Addressed during the inspection.

      • The manicure and pedicure workstations, storage carts, shelves, windowsills, nail products and other supplies were not visibly clean and were covered in nail dust.

      • Preempt CS20 disinfectant used for tools disinfection expired on October 2, 2024. Approved high-level disinfectant is required.

      • No approved disinfectant has been used for disinfection of pedicure baths: the product used for disinfection did not have a DIN. Ensure that an approved disinfectant is used for disinfection of surfaces and pedicure baths.

      • No records of testing of high-level disinfectant were available, and no testing of disinfectant has been conducted as required. When the disinfectant in the soaking tray was tested with the inspector's test strips, the concentration of the disinfectant was not sufficient (failed result).
