      • The owner of the personal service business did not submit a notification about the business to the Alberta Health Services. Submit the notification to AHS.
    • 03. Are facility-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices?
      • No written procedures for skin cleansing prior to services and accidental cuts were available.
    • 08. Is hand hygiene performed by the personal services worker when required, in a proper manner and are provisions available to perform hand hygiene?
      • A re-usable towel was provided in the washroom. Provide single-use towels or paper towels in an appropriate dispenser.
    • 10. Is cleansing and antisepsis of skin and mucous membrane performed in accordance to written procedures and are suitable products being used?
      • There was no product used or available for skin cleansing prior to waxing. Please ensure that the skin is cleansed prior to waxing services.

      • Re-usable tools observed on workstations, including clippers and razor blade holders, were not visibly clean. Ensure that the re-usable tools are visibly clean prior to disinfection, and they are disinfected after each use.

      • No approved disinfectant has been used for tweezer disinfection (no DIN). Approved disinfectant is required.

      • Barbicide disinfectant was used against manufacturer's instructions: Barbicide solution was changed weekly, not daily, as required, and the combs were not fully immersed in the solution. Ensure that the solution is changed daily, and combs are fully immersed for disinfection.

      • The workstations were not maintained in sanitary manner. Ensure that surfaces are cleaned and disinfected as required.
    • 29. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained to allow for the safe and sanitary provision of personal services (Non-Critical)?
      • There was no toilet paper dispenser available in the washroom. Please provide toilet paper in an appropriate dispenser.
