      • No written procedure for skin cleansing prior to services was available.
    • 08. Is hand hygiene performed by the personal services worker when required, in a proper manner and are provisions available to perform hand hygiene?
      • Hand sanitizer was unapproved: it did not have a DIN or NPN. Discontinue use of unapproved hand sanitizer. Ensure that hand sanitizers used have NPN/DIN, alcohol content between 60 and 90%, and are not expired.
    • 16. Is reusable equipment handled and stored properly (Non-Critical)?
      • Towels observed on esthetic beds were stained and unsanitary. Ensure that linen/towels are changed after each client.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • The product used for disinfection of surfaces (alcohol) did not have a DIN. An approved disinfectant with DIN must be used for surface disinfection.
    • 21. Is equipment that is intended to be sterile maintained sterile at the point of use?
      • Some needles did not have a proper sterility assurance documentation available. Discontinue use of the needles without proper sterility assurance documentation.
    • 26. Are cosmetic products appropriate for their intended use and being handled properly?
      • Some cosmetic products did not have appropriate labels: some had labels not in English or French, some were missing the ingredients, and some cosmetic bottles did not have labels. Discontinue use of improperly labelled cosmetic products, and provide labels for cosmetic products portioned from the bulk supply.
