    • 08. Is hand hygiene performed by the personal services worker when required, in a proper manner and are provisions available to perform hand hygiene?
      • The ear-piercing station is located at the front entrance of the store and is equipped with a mobile handwashing sink capable of providing hot and cold water when supplied with water. At the time of inspection, the water reservoir was empty and no water was available at the handwashing station. Staff advised that the reservoir is normally filled using water from the staff or mall washroom and that staff use the washroom for handwashing when the reservoir is empty.Only one employee was on duty and was responsible for both retail sales and ear-piercing services. Given the location of the piercing station at the front of the store and the washroom at the rear of the facility, relying on the washroom for routine handwashing may not support timely and consistent hand hygiene during piercing operations.Ensure the handwashing station at the ear-piercing area is continuously supplied with water and fully functional whenever piercing services are being provided. Ear-piercing services must not be performed when the handwashing station is not operational or lacks an adequate water supply.
