    • 05. Are communicable diseases at this facility being properly managed?
      • A review of the site's communicable disease management protocol is required. Concerns were noted regarding:1. The indicated number episodes for GI related symptoms not in line with AHS guidelines.2. Kitchen staff is involved in overseeing sick clients being isolated.3. No illness logs for tracking illness within the facility was available upon request.4. No clear protocol for handling and cleaning of body fluids.Please have the policy reviewed and updated for both clients and staff. -PHI to send guidance documents via email.

      • Several areas of the walls in the Kinder room and Preschool room were in disrepair.**Please have the walls repaired to ensure they are smooth and cleanable.
    • 19. Are indoor play areas and equipment sufficient and being properly maintained to ensure client safety (Critical)?
      • Toy washing procedure was inadequate. Staff indicated toys are only soaked in sanitizer.**Ensure all toys or other play materials are washed, rinsed and then soaked in an approved sanitizer for at least 2 minutes before being set to air dry.

      • There was no hot water at the hand sink in the blue room. Please ensure all hand sinks are supplied with cold and hot running water for proper hand washing.

      • There was no hot water at the hand sink of the second washroom in the kinder room. **Please ensure all hand sinks are supplied with cold and hot running water for proper hand washing.
    • 27. Are proper measures being taken to ensure that vermin do not enter or exist in the facility (Non-Critical)?
      • Gaps were observed below the exit door of the kinder room.**Please have the weatherstripping repaired or replaced to prevent the entry of pests.
