  1. Monitoring Inspection

    4 infractions

    • 06. Are appropriate food handling practices and plans in place to ensure that food is handled in a manner that makes it safe to eat?
      • Personal foods were observed to have been prepared in the kitchen, including the use of a rice cooker/Instant Pot. The food, which included rice and chicken in sauce, appeared to have been left overnight with the appliances turned off and was temperature abused. Please ensure that personal foods are not prepared or cooked in the facility. Employees may bring personal meals from home and reheat them, provided they are stored appropriately, clearly labeled and do not interfere with food safety practices or restaurant operations.
    • 18. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this food facility (Non-Critical)?
      • One of the cupboard doors in the public area, where the extra cups are stored, is missing its handle. As a result, the edge of the door is starting to come loose from being pulled open. I recommend repairing it before further damage occurs. The bottom corner of the door is also damaged, exposing the OSB. I recommend touching it up with paint to protect the material.Lastly, the water supply line to the laundry machine did not appear to have an obvious backflow prevention device. I did observe backflow prevention on the utility sink; however, I was unable to confirm whether the laundry machine water supply is similarly protected. Please confirm that appropriate backflow prevention is installed on the laundry machine water line.
    • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
      • A compressed gas cylinder, believed to be the CO₂ cylinder for the fountain pop system, was observed standing on the floor and was not secured. Staff secured it when this was pointed out during the inspection. However, the chain is attached to a shelving unit that does not appear to be stable, as it rattles when moved. If the cylinder were to tip, it could potentially pull the shelving unit over. I recommend securing the cylinder to a permanent structural support or another suitable anchoring point. The drain cover in the dishwashing area was observed to be off, with masking tape placed over the opening. I recommend installing a drain cover that fits securely in place. The water level in this drain was also observed to be quite high; however, staff advised that this is normal. I recommend continuing to monitor the drain to ensure it is functioning properly.
    • 22. Are utensils and equipment maintained in a condition and a manner that ensures the safe handling of food?
      • The ice bucket is cracked and damaged and needs to be discarded. Please remove utensils from products at the end of each day and replace them with clean, sanitized utensils at the start of the day or as needed
