Inspection summary

Fusion Express has been inspected 5 times by Interior Health Authority since February 6, 2017. The most recent inspection, on December 8, 2025, found no infractions.

1 of 5 inspections on record found no infractions at all. In the past 12 months there was 1 inspection with 0 infractions recorded. The higher-risk findings here relate to: Cleaning and sanitizing, Food temperature control and Protecting food from contamination.

Recent inspections have recorded fewer infractions than earlier ones, so the record is improving.

What these findings mean

Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.

  • Cleaning and sanitizingHigher risk

Anything that touches food, such as cutting boards, dishes and utensils, must be washed, rinsed and sanitized. Inspectors check dishwasher temperatures, sanitizer strength and how wiping cloths are stored. Poor sanitizing lets bacteria survive from one use to the next.

Recorded 2 times across 2 separate inspections, most recently on March 9, 2022. For example: 3 Are food contact surfaces, utensils and equipment washed and sanitized in a manner that removes/prevents contamination?

  • Food temperature controlHigher risk

Bacteria multiply fastest between about 4 °C and 60 °C (40 °F to 140 °F). Inspectors check that cold food stays cold, hot food stays hot, cooked food is cooled quickly, and that staff have accurate thermometers. Temperature problems are one of the most common causes of food poisoning, so these are treated as critical findings.

Recorded 2 times across 2 separate inspections, most recently on January 8, 2019. For example: 2 Are proper temperature controls maintained to ensure safe storage and display of foods?

  • Protecting food from contaminationHigher risk

This covers how food is stored, prepared and displayed: raw meat kept away from ready-to-eat food, food covered and stored off the floor, and nothing dripping or splashing into it. Cross-contamination from raw to cooked food is a direct route for salmonella and E. coli.

Recorded once on March 9, 2022. For example: 7 Are foods protected from contamination?

  • Permits, records and postingLower risk

Operating permits, required signage, written procedures and logs. These findings are administrative: the documentation was missing or out of date at the time of inspection.

Recorded 2 times across 2 separate inspections, most recently on January 8, 2019. For example: 3 Are written food handling procedures (Food Safety Plan) current and available on site?

  • Other findingsLower risk

Findings that do not fit the categories above, such as follow-ups that confirm an earlier violation was corrected, or requirements specific to this type of facility.

Recorded 3 times across 3 separate inspections, most recently on February 13, 2024. For example: 1 Does the facility have proper monitoring supplies?

I love their buttered chicken it is best to catch them shortly after opening as the food will be the freshest, either way its great and doesn't bother my stomach too much as I am lactose intolerant consuming cream, that being said the curry is a bit runny and could be a bit thicker. But if they do that I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to eat it haha! The tempura is also good and the nan bread ties everything together. For university food I would say its the best bang for your buck when it comes to food. Other places you'd pay $14 for a sandwich and a latte, here its $16-18 buuut they give you a heaping to go container and with that price you can get a drink from the fridge, to which they have a wide selection! TLDR this is one of my go to places for Indian.

The staff are kind but the food was so oily. I ordered mixed vegetables with rice and it came soaked in oil and it soaked through the box. Wouldn’t eat here again

The worker was nice but this Indian food was absolutely awful. I got the “butter chicken”. It was NOT butter chicken. It more closely resembled a yellow curry. Spice level was good. Flavour was bad. After eating about 1/4 of it I threw it out. The pieces of chicken were tiny slivers of chicken. Maybe 1 inch long and about 1/4 inch thick. Looked extremely processed. Rice was fluffy enough. Either they literally have no idea what butter chicken is or they gave me the wrong dish. Butter chicken tends to be orange. This was very yellow. Either way, it was awful and usually don’t mind yellow curry. Now the “naan” bread. Sooooo bad. It was for sure from Superstore or Walmart or something. It was basically just junk naan you buy from the grocery store. I asked for garlic but it tasted like baking flour. That’s NOT naan bread. You can’t just call your restaurant “Fusion” then serve people garbage Indian food. Literally NO idea how this place has 4 stars. It’s the worst Indian food I’ve had in my life. Waste of money. Had to go buy something else to eat for lunch.

Honestly, my view is subjective but I absolutely love the flavour of the butter chicken. The people are nice, the samosas and Chicken are good, and I’d have to recommend a try.

Great food, staff is super friendly and quick making orders. The seating area can get pretty busy but I love the samosas and butter chicken to much so I just eat elsewhere. This place is my fav food spot on campus I’d def recommend
