Assess the interior cavity for any possible water damage/ mould and properly remediate. Then, remove all water stained tiles and replace with new tiles.2.       • - The disinfectant being used for diapering: Signet Neutral Disinfectant - is a quat based product. Unable to find a norovirus claim online or on the poster at the site of the product.** Product used for disinfection of diapering areas/ surfaces must be effective against norovirus. Check with your technician to ensure this product is effective against norovirus or switch the product being used (ex. bleach mixed with water) for diapering. -

      • -Toddler Washroom: There was a drawer accessible to children that was unlocked and had pressurized air freshner stored. ** Please relocated the air freshner so it is inaccessible to children or place a child safety lock for the drawer. **This was corrected at the time of the inspection. -
    • 04. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Non-Critical)?
      • - 1. Cubicles around 4 ft high throughout the facility were not secured to the wall to prevent tipping over. ** Properly secure the cubicles to the wall so they do not tip over. 2. Three to Five Year Old Room: The black shelf measuring over 5 ft high holding shoes was not secured to the floor or wall and may tip over. ** Remove the black shelf or secure the shelf to the wall. 3. Three to Five Year Old Room: One electrical outlet did not have plug protector beside the window. ** Ensure all outlets have proper covers/protectors. 4. Room Three: The Cafe Stand play structure measuring around 4 ft high was not secured to the wall and unstable at the base. ** Please secure the play structure to the wall so it does not tip over and injure kids.5. Three to Five Year Old Room: Purses hung up with long straps present as a choking hazard for this age group.** Please remove the purses/bags, shorten the straps, or install breakaway straps to prevent choking hazards. -

      • - Baby Room: Indoor climbing slide structure had an 18-inch drop height with no impact absorption materials underneath. ** Install impact absorption under and around the climbable slide structure with a depth of at minimum 2 inches ( ex. Sleeping mat or gymnastic mat may be sufficient). -

      • - Toddler Room: There were bottles with missing child names in the fridge. ** Ensure that all bottles are properly labelled with the child's name. -

    • 04. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Non-Critical)?
      • -1. The tall lockers that will store the childrens personal belongings throughout the facility were not secured to the wall. **Secure the shelves to the wall. 2. The tall tree structure containing books in room 4 is not secured to the wall.**Secure the tree structure to the wall. 3. The tall puppet play wall near the door holding the sleeping mats in room 4 was not stable and could easily be tipped over. The plan was to put the play toy in the middle of the room. ** Either secure this tall puppet play toy/ structure to the wall or remove from the play area as it can easily be tipped over and injure kids.4. The door to the kitchen was unable to be locked.** Ensure the door to the kitchen is lockable, to prevent children access. -
    • 09. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) available in suitable location(s), and properly stocked with handwashing supplies?
      • -Some handwashing sinks were missing soap in the dispensers.**Please ensure all handwashing stations are properly stocked with paper towels/soap. -
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • - 1. There were gaps exposed to the exterior when the outside door ( in room 4 ) was fully closed.** Please repair or replace the weatherstripping and ensure the gap to the exterior is closed. There should be no sunlight seen when the door is closed ( an indication the door is weatherproof/pest proof). 2. There were gaps exposed to the exterior when the outside door (in room 3) was fully closed.** Please repair or replace the weatherstripping and ensure the gap to the exterior is closed. There should be no sunlight seen when the door is closed ( an indication the door is weatherproof/pest proof). 3. Several floor drains throughout the facility had rough, uneven edges exposed (due to the cut out flooring around the drain). ** Refinish the flooring, seal around the gaps, or install a proper cover over the drains. 4. In the washroom in room 4, there is a corner section of the wall/baseboard that was unfinished, exposing concrete. **Properly finish the area and ensure the surface is made smooth, non-absorbent to moisture, and easy to clean. 5. In room 4, the outside door had a section of concrete exposed near the edge where proper finishing materials were missing.**Install a proper transition strip to cover the concrete or extend the edge trim so the surface is made smooth, non-absorbent to moisture, and easy to clean. 6. In room 1, the flooring in the washroom was not properly finished. A toilet had earlier been removed.**Please properly finish the flooring in the room 1 washroom. -
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
      • -There were no labels on the spray bottles containing bleach/water. **Please label all the bottles to indicate it's contents-
