    • 07. Are the filtration, circulation and disinfection systems used to maintain water quality working properly (Non-Critical)?
      • The flow rate was observed to be at 53 GPM.Filter area: 3.1 sq ftFiltration rate: 17.1 gpm/sq ft Corrective Action- Decrease the flow rate to ensure the filtration rate does not exceed 15 GPM/sq ft.- Note, this specific system can operate at 46-47 GPM to maintain the required filtration rate (and recirculation rate).

    • 04. Is the chemical quality of the water in this pool satisfactory (Critical)?
      • During the inspection it was found that the free chlorine was at 0.31ppm. Please raise and maintain the free chlorine levles above 1ppm.
    • 05. Is the chemical quality of the water in this pool satisfactory (Non-Critical)?
      • The combined chlorine was tested to be 1.57 ppm at the time of inspection, this was higher than the tested free chlorine levels of 0.31ppm.Please ensure that the combined chlorine levels are maintained as low as possible.
    • 07. Are the filtration, circulation and disinfection systems used to maintain water quality working properly (Non-Critical)?
      • During the inspection the filtration rate was observed to be 17.4 GPM/sq ft. The flow rate of the pool was raised from 50 Gallons Per Minute (GPM) that was previously cited as a violation for having a filtration rate of 16.1 GPM/sq ft to flow rate of 54 GPM equaling a filtration rate of 17.4 GPM/sq ft.Having a filtration rate that is too high may cause tunneling in the sand bed of the sand filters. When tunneling occurs the water is not being filtered enough to be properly cleaned of all debris as intended by the manufactures of the sand filter. The flow rate of the water needs to be lowered in order to comply with the legislation. Lowering the flow rate to 45GPM will give a turnover of 4 hours and a filtration rate of 14.5GPM/sq ft rendering both these values in compliance. Please ensure the filtration rate for the pool is no more than 15 GPM/sq ft at all times.

    • 05. Is the chemical quality of the water in this pool satisfactory (Non-Critical)?
      • 1.The total alkalinity of the swimming pool was tested to be at 54 ppm during the time of the inspection. Please ensure that the total alkalinity is maintained between 60-180ppm.2. The combined chlorine was tested to be 1.54 ppm at the time of inspection, this was higher than the tested free chlorine levels of 1.37.Please ensure that the combined chlorine levels are maintained as low as possible.
    • 07. Are the filtration, circulation and disinfection systems used to maintain water quality working properly (Non-Critical)?
      • During the inspection the filtration rate was observed to be 16.1 GPM/sq ft. Please ensure the filtration rate is no more than 12.5 GPM/sq ft at all times.
    • 14. Is the pool maintained in a clean and sanitary condition, good repair and are temperatures being properly regulated?
      • 1. A tile was missing from the edge of the swimming pool on the side of the emergency exit door near the deep end of the pool. Please ensure that all finishes are maintained in good repair at all times. 2. Some tissue debris was visible at the bottom of the swimming pool at the time of inspection. Please ensure that the pool in maintained in a clean condition at all times.
    • 16. Are proper testing, monitoring, and other records being properly maintained?
      • Inconsistencies in daily record keeping for the water quality tests was observed during the inspection. Please ensure that the daily testing log sheet is filled out for every day of operation.
