What these findings mean
Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.
Cleaning and sanitizingHigher risk
Anything that touches food, such as cutting boards, dishes and utensils, must be washed, rinsed and sanitized. Inspectors check dishwasher temperatures, sanitizer strength and how wiping cloths are stored. Poor sanitizing lets bacteria survive from one use to the next.
Recorded once on May 6, 2026. For example:
3 Are food contact surfaces, utensils and equipment washed and sanitized in a manner that removes/prevents contamination?
Protecting food from contaminationHigher risk
This covers how food is stored, prepared and displayed: raw meat kept away from ready-to-eat food, food covered and stored off the floor, and nothing dripping or splashing into it. Cross-contamination from raw to cooked food is a direct route for salmonella and E. coli.
Recorded once on May 6, 2026. For example:
5 Are the premises and equipment properly maintained and operated in a sanitary manner (i.e. ongoing maintenance)?
Handwashing and staff hygieneHigher risk
Hands are the main way germs like norovirus move from people to food. Inspectors look for stocked, accessible handwashing sinks, staff washing hands when required, hair restraints, and sick employees being kept away from food. Gaps here can spread illness quickly.
Recorded once on May 6, 2026. For example:
7 Are there handwashing stations available and properly supplied?
Permits, records and postingLower risk
Operating permits, required signage, written procedures and logs. These findings are administrative: the documentation was missing or out of date at the time of inspection.
Recorded 2 times on May 6, 2026. For example:
3 Are written food handling procedures (Food Safety Plan) current and available on site?
Other findingsLower risk
Findings that do not fit the categories above, such as follow-ups that confirm an earlier violation was corrected, or requirements specific to this type of facility.
Recorded once on May 6, 2026. For example:
1 Does the facility have proper monitoring supplies?

Some of the most honest home cooking you’ve ever had, and at exceptionally reasonable prices! Not sure why the rating shows 3.7? With almost all five star reviews. There was one recent review of one star that was from someone who ordered nothing but coffees. She also stated that the man who serve red her was hungover. For Amy’s information that was the owner, and he absolutely does not drink any alcohol. Get a life Amy.

The food was delicious diner style, especially the crispy hash browns. It is very affordable - $35 for 2 meals, 2 coffees and 2 juices! Good service, would visit again.

This place is an absolute gem. The owner takes no shortcuts in quality, and has a long history of culinary excellence. I highly recommend stopping in for a bite or a Birra Moretti, my new favourite beer. Thank you Nick!

We stopped in for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed some amazing lasagna, along with a fantastic visit with a wonderful woman. Great vibes with great food. We will definitely return anytime we pass through.

Food was presentable & decent. Waitress apologized, said she forgot about us sitting outside. But then she forgot about giving us water, giving us coffee, giving us a bill. And then when it was time to pay, she got our bill mixed up with someone else. I think at one point she thought we even paid.
