- The operator was observed using a low-level disinfectant to clean pedicure basins. The operator was instructed to use a high-level disinfectant.

- Several nail polishes were identified without ingredient lists or manufacturer instructions. All cosmetic products must be clearly labeled with a complete list of ingredients and appropriate usage guidelines.

- Visibly soiled plastic single-use mascara applicators were noted in a drawer in the waxing room. - Do not reuse single-use items that cannot be properly cleaned and disinfected. Used applicators were discarded by operator.

- Visible debris noted on scissors and tweezers stored in a drawer in the waxing room. - Ensure reusable equipment is stored in a clean manner that protects equipment from contamination. Operator moved scissors and tweezers to reprocessing area to clean and disinfect equipment.

- High level disinfection testing strips expired in April 2024. - Obtain valid test strips for measuring high level disinfection concentration.

- Operator reported that metal drill bits at manicure stations were cleaned with alcohol only. Nail nippers and clippers with visible debris noted at various stations. - All semi-critical equipment must be cleaned and disinfected with a high level disinfectant as per manufacturer's instructions. Drill bits, nippers, and clippers were removed from the stations by operator and moved to sink for reprocessing.

- As per operator, liners are discarded, then pedicure basins are cleaned with Scrubbing Bubbles cleaner prior to next client. - Pedicure basins should be cleaned and disinfected after each use with a low level disinfectant at minimum even when single use disposable liners are used. Impeller covers should be removed for proper in place cleaning and disinfection. An intermediate level disinfectant is recommended and may be more effective in preventing biofilm accumulation. Ensure to clean and disinfect pedicure basins immediately after use. Used plastic liners were discarded and pedicure basin cleaned and disinfected by operator.

Operator removed noted items to be discarded or for personal use.
