      • **Updated march 20th, 2026: Fridge in the purple room was still over 4C.**Fridges holding lunches are not maintaining a temperature of 4C or less; ensure to check fridges once the lunches are stored in the fridge to obtain a representative temperature; ensure that lunches are not stored right to the top of the fridge as air cannot circulate efficiently to maintain the required temperature. Consider obtaining a second or larger fridge to maintain the required temperature of 4 C or less.Ensure that lunches that are reheated are stirred and the temperature is checked using a calibrated thermometer to adequate reheat temperatures and then cooled before children eat their lunch.

      • Most of the play red benches had worn out corners. Exposing the inner lining of the bench. **Repair and ensure the surface of the bench is non absorbent and easy to clean.**

      • Staples were noted on the wall in most rooms with younger children. Some staples were half off and some were at a height that was reachable by a child.**Cover all staples with tape in most rooms.**

      • Observed chipped paint on the windowsill in the orange and blue rooms. Please repaint the indicated areas.
    • 20. Are indoor play areas and equipment sufficient and being properly maintained to ensure client safety (Non-Critical)?

      • The half-door in question cannot be flushed against the wall, which may result in future injuries to staff/parents or children. Please provide proof of purchase/installation of corner protectors. Please keep the door as flushed as possible to the wall when open. This may require some storage behind the door to be moved.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • Observed chipped paint on the windowsill in the orange and blue rooms. Please repaint the indicated areas.

      • The half-door in question cannot be flushed against the wall, which may result in future injuries to staff/parents or children. Please provide proof of purchase/installation of corner protectors. Please keep the door as flushed as possible to the wall when open. This may require some storage behind the door to be moved.
    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • Noted that child's hands were not washed after diapering. Staff indicated that the classroom sink was used for handwashing, and there was no designated bleach solution for the diapering station. Please review diapering procedure available in the Health Standards and Guidelines for Childcare Facilities. Children must wash hands in the washroom after a diaper change. Use paper towel on the mat for each change and disinfect the area (including straps) with a designated bleach water solution.

      • Observed chipped paint on the windowsill in the orange and blue rooms. Please repaint the indicated areas.
    • 20. Are indoor play areas and equipment sufficient and being properly maintained to ensure client safety (Non-Critical)?
      • Some of the larger toys such as play sets and houses had a build up of dust and debris in hard to reach areas. Please ensure that staff first clean toys with soap and water prior to disinfecting with bleach solution. Facility may use the dishwasher in the kitchen or a bin system, where toys are first washed in bins with soap and water, rinsed in a separate bin, and disinfected in a third bin with 100 ppm bleach solution.
    • 24. Are sleeping supplies and areas sufficient to ensure client safety and comfort (Non-Critical)?
      • Childrens' bedding were fitted to the mats and stored adjacent to one another, thereby providing no separation of childrens' personal belongings.Staff should not be fitting bedding well ahead of naptime as this can lead to cross contamination.
