      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Two trays of knafeh observed at ambient temperature (on top of sweets cooler). Product contains dairy (cream/cheese). Operator stated that knafeh was obtained from a supplier in North Vancouver and was stored at ambeint temperature since it was received (invoice provided, dated October 20, 2024).
      • Corrective Action(s): Operator opted to discard the product. Ensure cold potentially hazardous food is stored at 4 degrees C or less to limit the growth of potential pathogens.
      • Violation Score: 5
      • 401 - Adequate handwashing stations not available for employees [s. 21(4)]
      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Bakery handwashing station was obstructed by multiple utensils/cups located in the sink. This is a recurring violation.

      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Quats in labeled spray bottle in meat department was measured at over 400 ppm quats. Quats is being prepared manually and no quats test strips are on site to verify concentrations.
      • Corrective Action(s): Quats bottle was emptied, rinsed, and refilled with 100 ppm chlorine bleach sanitizer (test strips available). Ensure sanitizer bottle is properly labeled today. Ensure sanitizer is maintained at safe and effective concentrations for food contact surfaces.
      • Violation Score: 3

      • No sanitizer available in bakery department.
      • Corrective Action(s): As there were no quats test strips available for verifying concentration after manual mixing of quats, it was decided to instead prepare bleach water sanitizer (at 3 compartment sink for equipment/utensils, and in labeled spray bottle for equipment/surfaces). Bleach water tested at 100 to 200 ppm chlorine. Chlorine test strips available. Surfaces/equipment resanitized. Ensure sanitizer is available at safe and effective concentrations for food contact surfaces.
      • Violation Score: 5

      • Corrective Action(s): - Sanitizer bottle was emptied and cleaned. Sanitizer was prepared at 200 ppm quats. Surfaces resanitized. Ensure that sanitizer is maintained at safe concentrations for a no rinse food contact surface sanitizer. High concentrations of sanitizer can chemically contaminate food.
