- Mouse droppings noted in Stargazers room near heating ventilation and bait box. Professional pest control company contracted - program will provide update on droppings.Provided additional discussion for cleaning around area. Please have pest control follow up and continue to do daily checks.

- (1) The alarm on the door leading to the stairway in the Explorer 2 room and the alarm on the door in the hallway near the staff area were not operational at the time of inspection. Ensure all doors leading to the exterior of the daycare have a system in place to alert staff when the doors are opened.

- (1) There was debris underneath the diaper pad in the Explorer 1 room diaper station. There was dirt and debris along the edges of the diaper station in the Explorer 2 room. There was debris in the hinges and/or edges of the diaper station in the Stargazer 2 room. A table where children eat was located directly below this diaper station. The debris can fall onto the table below. Ensure all areas of the diaper station are properly cleaned and sanitized.(2) The large diaper mat on in Washroom #2 was torn along the edges and cannot be properly cleaned and sanitized. Ensure the diaper mat is in good repair and that there is a designated storage area (such as a hook) for this diapering mat.

- (1) The door frame in the Explorer 1 room was damaged at the bottom left side. A section of the frame was broken off and the porous material was exposed.(2) There was exposed drywall on a small section above the hand soap dispenser in the Explorer 1 room.

- (1) Alcohol wipes and antiseptics wipes in the Stargazer 1 (Infant Room) first aid kit were expired. Ensure all first aid kits are checked and restocked as needed. * Note in May 2024, there were updates to the First Aid Operational Requirements. Please refer to the Health and Safety Guide forOperators of Child Care Facilities, Appendix H – First Aid Equipment & Supplies for details on Type 2 Basic First Aid kits.
