   • 04. Does the operator use approved methods for cleaning and sanitizing equipment, utensils, and surfaces?
     • The shovel, containers, and trough had not been sanitized prior to use.Ensure all items that will contact snow are maintained in clean and sanitary condition, and sanitized prior to use with a food grade sanitizer.To prepare a food grade sanitizer, mix 0.5 tsp of bleach with 1L of potable water.Cloths used must be clean, and if used multiple times before washing must be stored in a sanitizer solution between uses.
   • 17. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this special event vendor (Non-Critical)?
     • The wooden stamper used to stamp the snow into the trough did not appear finished.Ensure the wooden stamper is finished so it may be cleaned and sanitized. Ensure the wood is maintained so no slivers flake off.A sign was not posted advising individuals attending the event that natural snow was being used as a cooling agent.At all events where natural snow is used as a cooling agent, a sign advising the public of this must be clearly visible.
