    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • 1. Garbage bin observed in kindergarten washroom was not opening properly. The bin lid was being touched after handwashing, which is unhygienic.-Please repair or replace the garbage bin with a functional foot pedal.2. Flicking and burnt-out bulbs were observed in one of the downstairs classrooms.-Please replace these light bulbs and ensure the classroom is well lit.

      • There were push pins used on the walls of the classroom. The inspector informed the staff that push pins cannot be used as they are prone to falling and be accessible to children. The push pins were removed during the inspection.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
      • Some paint and glue bottles did not have an AP (Approved Product) symbol. The inspector informed the staff that all paint and glue products must have the AP symbol to ensure that these products were tested for non-toxicity to children. The staff mentioned that the glue products were being refilled from an AP-approved bulk source. Please ensure to properly label the glue products when transferred to different chemical containers.

      • **Ongoing Violation** The paint on the blue desks in the classroom was chipped and damaged exposing the raw, porous wood. Please repair or replace the damaged desks so that they are easy to clean and impervious to moisture.

      • First aid kit antiseptic wipes were expired. The supervisor on site corrected this during the inspection by discarding the expired wipes and replacing with new wipes that had been recently purchased.
