    • 08. Is this facility properly constructed (Non-Critical)?
      • Missing ceiling tiles were observed above the hallway, next to the out-of-school children room.Ensure that ceiling is in good repair to prevent peat entry, facilitate easy cleaning and sanitization.Operator indicated that she will be discussing with the landlord to ensure missing ceiling tiles are replaced.
    • 17. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Critical)?
      • Sanitizer solution was observed at 50 ppm at Junior Pre-school room.Ensure that sanitizer solution used for food contact surface is at 100 ppm for effectiveness.Confirm concentration of solution using a chlorine test strip.Sodium hypochlorite solution (bleach) concentration was 50 ppm at Junior Pre-school room.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • Diapering surface was observed to be torn around the edges, making it difficult to clean and disinfect in Infant room. The diapering surface must be made of a non-absorbent material that can be cleaned and disinfected after each use.Operator had a spare diapering surface, and this was replaced.
    • 29. Are washrooms / bathing facilities properly constructed, maintained and supplied (Non-Critical)?
      • 1. Washroom exhaust fan in infant room was observed to be sealed with duct tape. Operator indicated that this was due to insect entry.Ensure that all rooms containing a flush toilet, bathtub or a shower is properly ventilated using a window or a mechanical ventilation.2. Floor at the back of toilet was visibly dirty in Pre-school room (downstair).Please clean washroom floor and ensure it remains clean and sanitary manner at all times.

      • Sanitizer for diapering surface at 100ppm. Please ensure 1000ppm is used for diapering surfaces.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • Build-up of grease and dirt noted in the dishwasher. Ensure that the inside of the dishwasher is properly cleaned to ensure its functioning adequately.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
      • The rugs in the children play area requires steam cleaning. Vacuum daily when children are not present. When deep cleaning carpets, make sure children are not present until the carpet is dry. Deep clean carpets at least monthly in infant areas, at least every three months in other areas, and when soiled.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
      • Playspace monitoring records not up-to-date.Ensure that a visual inspection of the playspace is performed by on a daily basis. Daily checks could identify problems such as vandalism, broken glass and other hazardous or dangerous debris. Records of this should be kept onsite and available upon request.
