    5 infractions

    • 205 - Critical Cold potentially hazardous food stored/displayed above 4 °C. [s. 14(2)]
      • Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Dairy cream for coffee was being held out at room temperature for over 2 hours. Growth of foodborne illness-causing organisms may occur if potentially hazardous foods requiring refrigeration are held at room temeprature for an extended period of time.
      • Corrective Action: Cream was disposed of during inspection. A new pot for cream was prepared and stored inside of the fridge. Ensure that any dairy products held at room temperature are either completely used up or disposed of within 2 hours
    • 209 - Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]
      • Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Scoop for ice machine observed stored directly on top of ice during inspection. High-touch surfaces such as scoop handles should not be in direct contact with ready-to-eat foods such as ice due to the potential for cross-contamination leading to illness.
      • Corrective Action: Scoop was removed and stored separately from the ice machine during inspection.
    • 209 - Repeat Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]
      • Observation: Onions stored directly under 2-compartment sink inside of cabinet. Area is disorganized with bags,containers, cleaning supplies and is not an appropriate storage space for food due to the potential for cross-contamination.
      • Corrective Action: Move onions to a dedicated food storage area.
    • 306 - Food premises not maintained in a sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
      • Observation: Garbage from receptacle was seen to be overflowing on to the floor during inspection (dairy cartons, food packaging, etc). Waste should be kept contained and separated from any nearby food and food preparation areas in order to limit potential for contamination.
      • Corrective Action: Clean the area surrounding the garbage receptable from any waste and ensure that garbage is kept contained properly in the future.
    • 308 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces are not in good working order [s. 16(b)]
      • Observation: Small fridge beside dry storage closet needs de-icing/repair to ensure that the doors can fully close and the unit can maintain 4 C at all times. The store is currently working with very limited food storage space that introduces further risk of cross-contamination and cleaning difficulties.
      • Corrective Action: Fridge is to be repaired or replaced.
