      • Single use items that had been used, such as nail files and buffer blocks were being stored in drawers with other items.Single use items are to be used once then discarded. Do not store used items with other items as they will contaminate clean/unused equipment.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • Semi-critical instruments are being disinfected in Barbicide which is a low-level disinfectant.Facility was instructed to re-disinfect all semi-critical instruments in high-level disinfectant. One container of high-level disinfectant was available, another was expired. Remove expired high-level disinfectant.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • The high-level disinfectant log sheet is not completed. Ensure that the high-level disinfectant log sheet is completed and maintained.Test strips were not available for high-level disinfectant.
    • 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
      • There was an accumulation of debris and nail dust Inside the drawers of the manicure stations. Clean high touch surfaces after each use, complete thorough cleaning of other surfaces weekly.
