- Packaged meats (supplied from owner's other food store) were for sale in the cold display case. The packages did not indicate a packaged date. Ensure all packaged meats have a packaged date on the label.
- 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
- Uneven flooring behind service counter is not smooth for cleaning, with edges between different flooring elevation. (vinyl plank flooring over existing linoleum flooring) Operator will need to plan to correct the flooring uneveness.

- 04. Does the operator use approved methods for cleaning and sanitizing equipment, utensils, and surfaces?
- No approved sanitizer available onsite. Spray bottle was empty. Test strips for chlorine sanitizer is available, ensure you supply onsite bleach to prepare an approved sanitizer (non-scented bleach for use, at 1/2 tsp bleach to 1 litre of water) for a concentration between 100-200 ppm chlorine for safe use on food contact surfaces.
- 07. Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Critical)?
- 1. Spoons stored inside the candy containers have handles in-contact with the food product. Remove the spoons from storage in the candy bin. Provide dispensing utensil that is stored properly for use.2. Straws on counter for customer use are not individually wrapped. Keep behind the counter and provide when requested. Alternatively, keep open straws in a dispenser that can dispense individually at a time.
- 11. Are there adequate and properly operating dish washing facilities to effectively clean and sanitize equipment and utensils (unless noted elsewhere)(Critical)?
- 1. No dishwashing drying rack onsite. Dishwashing of inserts for coffee/slush machine require proper dishwashing- wash/rinse/sanitize/air dry. 2. Facility is not setup for proper dishwashing onsite beyond coffee/self-contained beverage machines. 2 comp sink behind service counter is a 1 comp foodservice sink and a small handsink. *Would not be approved for adding hot food service (ie. hot dogs or reheating frozen foods in a hot holding unit) unless a proper 2 comp sink is added.
- 13. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) accessible to food handlers, located in suitable areas, and stocked with appropriate hand washing supplies?
- No paper towel in dispenser on wall. Staff had a loose roll stored near cash register. No soap provided for handsink. *Ensure both soap and paper towels are stored in a proper dispenser for use by the handsink for staff to wash hands.
- 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
- Observed ants on the floor-wall corner near the slush machine behind the front service counter. *clean up syrup spills on floor and remove ants from premise.

- Wood pallets were stored in the walkin cooler.Remove wood pallets from refrigeration units. The bare wood surfacing is not suitable in refrigeration units as it is not moisture-proof.

- Under cabinet (below pop bibs) had significant spillage from syrup spills. Clean area thoroughly.
