- F2.3 Are food contact surfaces, utensils and equipment washed and sanitized in a manner that removes/prevents contamination?
- Observation(s): There is no dipper well for the ice cream scoops. When you open for the season next year, ensure each flavour of ice cream has their own scoop and it is kept on the lid of the ice cream. There is only one hand washing sink that is not designed for washing of scoops either. All scoops need to be washed, rinsed and sanitized at minimum end of day. Bleach is available and ensure the scoops are soaking in the sanitizer for at least 2 minutes before air drying.
- F2.6 Are the premises designed and equipped to ensure safe food handling?
- Observation(s): Permit is only approved for scooping hard ice cream. There are signs for milkshakes and warm samosas which need to be taken down. If these are items you want to do next season you will need to submit an application to our office for approval. There will be upgrades that will be needed such as installing a 3 compartment sink for proper warewashing
- F3.5 Are the FOODSAFE training requirements being met?
- Observation(s): ensure at least one staff on site at all times has their FOODSAFE certificate if you will be serving ice cream.
