    • 03. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Critical)?
      • Out of school and Kinder rooms - Spray bottles with bleach solution had no label. Staff immediately labeled the bottles.OSC room:- Craft painting containers and a glue container was stored together with kids' personal belongings (jackets & hats) in the cubbies area.Staff immediately remove the paint and glue containers and stored them in a cabinet.

      • Kinder room:- A changing pad in the washroom was found to be ripped.Replace the damaged pad with a new one.
    • 22. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Non-Critical)?
      • Kinder room:One of the toilets is clogged.- Repair the defective toilet.

      • -Hard to reach areas were visibly unclean. Please ensure deep cleaning is conducted regularly and hard to reach areas are included:*Carpets should be lifted*Cupboards should be emptied*Furniture should be moved
    • 27. Are proper measures being taken to ensure that vermin do not enter or exist in the facility (Non-Critical)?
      • -There was a gap at the bottom of the exit door in the Baby Room. Please ensure weatherproofing is added to prevent the entry of pests.

    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • The outlet beside the microwave in the pre-kinder (4-5yrs) room requires a cover.
    • 22. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Non-Critical)?
      • Maximum water temperature at the sink in the toddler room measured at 52.6C. Please have this lowered to <49C, 43C is recommended.
    • 25. Are there adequate storage areas sufficient for the operation of the facility?
      • A box containing spare coats was observed stored in the toddler room bathroom, beside a toilet. Upon request, this box was relocated. Please do not store toys or clothing in the bathrooms.

      • The children's water bottles require name labels.

    • 03. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Critical)?
      • - There were paints in the OSC Room that were not non-toxic. Ensure these are removes and only non-toxic craft supplies are used.- Nail polish and nail polish remover were in the toy storage area of the OSC; some of the polishes had spilled and children were using them to paint dolls hair. Please ensure these are stored out of children’s reach and only used with direct supervision.-Empty pill bottles were being used for play in the OSC. Ensure pill bottles are not used for toys; chemical residues may not come off from washing.

      • -Proper care is not being taken to restrict kitchen entrance by clients in a daycare. The door was left open and knives were stored on the counter. Ensure knives are stored out of children’s reach and the kitchen door is kept closed.
    • 04. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Non-Critical)?
      • -The laundry door was left open and chemicals were stored on the floor. Ensure the laundry room is kept locked and/or chemicals are moved out of children’s reach.-There were two shelves in the OSC Room that were over 4 feet high and not adequately secured. Ensure these shelves are secured.-Construction materials for the greenhouse were stored at the back of the OSC Room and were accessible to children. Ensure this area is blocked from children’s access or the materials are removed.
    • 20. Are indoor play areas and equipment sufficient and being properly maintained to ensure client safety (Non-Critical)?
      • -Sand play tables used at this social care facility did not have a lid. Ensure all sand tables are equipped with proper fitting lids.
