- ***Sanitizer/disinfectants were not being properly managed. There were spray bottles labeled 1000ppm chlorine solution that only contained a 500ppm solution. If this concentration is used on toys and tables it is to be rinsed off with potable water after the exposure time has elapsed.

- ***Illness policy and records were discussed (records were not available for review). Staff were not aware when to contact AHS with regards to illnesses. Guidelines will be sent with this report.

- ***Discussed the mop sink hose. The hose end is to remain above the lip of the basin at all times. The hose can be shortened, removed or the hose can be hooked up over the faucet to ensure that the hose end is not in the basin. Corrected during the inspection.

- ***There was to be a barrier between the child area and the kitchen. There was a hallway where the kinder aged children can use to get to the play yard. It also accesses the kitchen. There is to be a gate or door to prevent the children from accessing the kitchen area.
- 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
- Many of the mountings had been painted and finished. Staff planned on sending a picture of the remaining ones in the room that was in use.***There were ends of the mounts for the coat hooks in the cubbies that were not finished/painted. Ensure that the finishes are maintained in a cleanable condition.

- ***Many of the sinks had been set so that the temperature was withing the required temperatures (between 38C and 43C). There were currently no children present in those rooms. Please ensure that the sinks are maintaining a hot water temperature between 38C and 43C prior to children using those areas.***Many of the faucets checked had hot water temperatures over 55C. Hot water is to be maintained between 38C and 43C at the facuets.

- ***There were ends of the mounts for the coat hooks in the cubbies that were not finished/painted. Ensure that the finishes are maintained in a cleanable condition.

- ***There were building/construction materials being stored in a unsecured closet off the kinder room. Discussed ensuring that it is secured or the construction / building materials are removed.Oct 1, 2024***There were building/construction materials, chemicals and paints present in the unsecured utility room off the kinder room. Operator instructed workers to remove. They started removing during the inspection. Discussed securing the door to prevent children's access.

- ***The diapering area was not set up in this room.The built in counter was not close to the hand sink. Previous discussion operator had indicated a diapering station would be a changing area by the interior window and hand sink.Oct 1, 2024***diapering change table in the toddler room was not located by the hand sink. It was moved during the inspection to the previously discussed acceptable location under the interior window by the hand sink.

- ***There was an area at the base of the toilet that was missing the floor covering. Discussed that this created an uncleanable area that could allow water/urine to seep under the floor in the washroom.Oct 1, 2024***The base of the toilet in the washroom closest to the play yard door was unfinished. Operator requested worker to repair the area during the inspection.

- ***The debris previously removed from the area under the cubbies was present on the floor. Discussed that before Friday's inspection a complete and thorough cleaning was to be done.

- ***Emptying the water play tables at the end of the day is insufficient to maintain them in a clean and sanitary condition. They are to be emptied midday and cleaned before refilling and cleaned and sanitized at the end of the day. Ensure documented procedures are available and followed.

- ***There was a plumbing concern with the hand sink further from the back door in baby room 2. The water from the faucet sprayed out of the faucet on the mirror and ricochetted of the sink to splash the person hand washing and onto the floor.Oct 1, 2024***The hand sink further from the play yard door was not operating properly. The water was still splashing the mirror and out onto the floor.

All construction debris is to be removed.Oct 1, 2024***There were shards of metal and broken glass present on the windowsills in both the infant rooms. operator instructed staff to wipe the sills. PHI suggested that a damp cloth or paper towel be used to prevent further contamination.
