      • A record log of testing/usage of the high-level disinfectant is required. (Provided AHS template for use).

      • Operator did not have written procedures for:- the cleansing of skin and mucous membrane - client care in the event of an accidental skin cut or punctureCorrective Action:Provided operator with the AHS written procedures and assisted with reviewing/completing them during the inspection.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • PREempt RTU is being used to disinfect semi-critical equipment (i.e. lash tweezers). Corrective Action:1) A high-level disinfectant is required (e.g. PREempt CS20) to disinfect semi-critical equipment.2) Test strips for high-level disinfectant are required (specific to the manufacturer).3) A record log of testing/usage of the high-level disinfectant is required. (Provided AHS template for use).
    • 31. Are sinks accessible and used appropriately for the personal services provided?
      • The washroom sink was being used to reprocess (clean/disinfect) semi-critical equipment (i.e. lash tweezers).Corrective Action:Informed operator of requirements for Reprocessing Area and Sink1. Must not be in a room with a toilet (i.e. cannot be in a washroom)2. The reprocessing area must:i) Be separate from incompatible activities such as (sleeping, dining, food preparation, routine employee and client traffic, and storage of employee personal items).ii) Have enough work surface area to adequately accommodate the placement of contaminated reusable equipment and cleaned equipment.3. The sink must be connected to a permanent potable water system with hot and cold running water (i.e. not a mobile / portable sink)Operator noted she will get a dedicated sink installed in another appropriate part of the home.
