- Observation: Insufficient sanitation of food contact surfaces is occurring. Food contact surfaces must be cleaned and sanitized every two hours. Inadequate sanitation buckets were observed in the kitchen area. Unsanitary food contact surfaces can contaminate other food being prepared on the same surfaces. These food contact surfaces should be cleaned and sanitized regularly and between preparing different food items to reduce the risk of cross-contamination.
- Corrective Action: The operator was instructed to maintain appropriate sanitization buckets with clean wiping cloths. The operator received education on the cleaning and sanitizing procedures. At least one sanitation bucket with active sanitizer must be kept available close to the food contact surface .

- Observation: There were two employee working at the time of inspection and both of them doesn't have FoodSafe training. It is a requirement for at least one employee to have their certification on every shift. This certification helps employees understand safe food handling, storage, and preparation, reducing health risks and maintaining compliance with legal requirements, This is a repeate violation..
- Corrective Action: A violation ticket has been issued to the owner. Ensure atleast one employee is holds a FoodSafe certificate. Provide a copy of foodsafe certificates of all the employees working in your faciltiy by July 24th, 2024.

- Observation: A valid operating permit was not posted in a conspicuous location at the time of the inspection.
- Corrective Action: Valid permit must be available and posted in a location viewable to the public. The operator was not able to find a copy of their permit and will contact Northern Health for a copy before June 30th, 2023..

- Observation: Permit to operate not posted in the restaurant.
- Corrective Action: Operator to aquire copy of operating permit and post it in a conspicuous location in the restaurant.

- Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Inadequate sanitizer concentration in the three-compartment sink and the sanitizer buckets. Staff mentioned that the sanitizer dispensor is broken and they have contacted ecolab to repair it.
- Corrective Action: The staff immediately prepared fresh bleach sanitizer solution and was told to use the same until the sanitizer dispensor is not repaired (6 cap fulls of bleach to 2/3rd water level in the sanitizer sink). Operator to aquire test strips for bleach.
- 305 - Conditions observed that may allow entrance/harbouring/breeding of pests [s. 26(b),(c)]
- Observation: The back door was kept open at the time of inspection. Staff mentioned that the air conditioners within the kitchen have not been working for the past couple days and they keep the back door open for ventilation. Keeping the back door open could lead to potential entry of pests into the food premises which increases the risk of food borne illnesses.
- Corrective Action: Operator to get a screen door as a replacement for the back door in case they plan on keeping the back door open.
- 501 - Operator does not have FOODSAFE Level 1 or Equivalent [s. 10(1)]
- Observation: No food safety trained staff present at the time of inspection. At least one person who has appropriate food safety training must be on at all times the establishment is in operation.
- Corrective Action: Ensure staffing schedules provide for FoodSafe trained personnel to be present at all times. Operator to get more staffed trained in food safety.

- Observation: Dishwasher not in use and was broken according to the last inspection report. The manager states that they are trying to get rid of the dishwasher.
- Corrective Action: Remove the dishwasher from the facillity. Notify the health authority once the dishwasher is removed from the premises.
- 311 - Repeat Premises not maintained as per approved plans [s. 6(1)(b)]
- Observation: Plumbing under the three-compartment sink was leaking. This could attract pests and result in contamination of food.
- Corrective Action: Repair the plumbing under the sink as soon as possible. Notify the health authority once repairs are complete.
