      • - Duct tape was being used to secure corrugated plastic to the diapering table and other furniture. The tape was peeling, creating surfaces that are difficult to clean and sanitize.*Please ensure that all surfaces around the diapering table are smooth, non‑absorbent, and easy to clean.Either repair or replace the diapering table or remove the duct tape and use an alternative material that is smooth, non‑absorbent, and easily cleanable.

Bibs must be stored in a clean, dry, and sanitary location, and must be properly sanitized prior to storage.*At the time of inspection, staff removed the bibs from the washroom and set them aside for sanitizing.

      • 1. Pushpins were used to place documents on the wall in the kindergarten and senior toddler rooms. Please remove the push pins as these may fall onto the floor and injure a child. Use tape or sticky tacks instead.2. Radio with cord was placed on the shelf that was accessible to children. Please ensure cords are unreachable to children.

      • Items in the first aid kit such as CPR barrier masks were missing. Please ensure to check the first aid kit as instructed by the manufacturer. Check that items are in good working order, have not deteriorated, and are within their expiry date.

Poor sanitation was noted throughout the various areas of the facility which includes but is not limited to: - Wall behind the garbage bin in baby room - The corners of the baby room especially by the toy cabinet area is cluttered.- White platform with peeling paint and uncleanable surfaces was placed on the sink in baby room. Please remove. - Diapering table in the senior toddler room is dirty. Please - Area behind the garbage bin in toddler room is dirty. - Shelves of diapering cabinet had accumulation of dust in preschool room.- Basket used to place children’s bottles in preschool room was dirty. Please ensure the following: - declutter and remove everything off the floor to facilitate cleaning. - deep clean and sanitize the facility 2. Toilet paper holders throughout the facility are broken. Please replace/repair. 3. Water is not draining properly from the baby room’s sink. Please repair.

      • All rooms: Children's personal belongings were in contact with each other's during storage in their cubbies. Please ensure the personal belongings are not touching each other's.

      • Mouse droppings were observed throughout the facility:- Baby room: droppings observed on the carpet where babies are and on foam toys. - Senior toddler room: droppings observed by play kitchen, by diaper cabinet. - Preschool room – droppings in the corners, by cabinet by hand sink.Kindergarten: droppings by children’s basket Ensure the following: - Please discard the affected foam. - Contract the services of a professional pest control company to eradicate the rodent problem and provide an Executive Officer with Alberta Health Services with all reports provided by the pest control company.- Perform a deep clean and disinfection of the facility with 1000 ppm bleach solution and remove all mice droppings.- Declutter the facility and ensure nothing is stored on the floor that would make regular cleaning difficult.- Wash all bedding, soft toys and dry in a hot air dryer. - Clean/ sanitize all toys.

      • 1. The diaper mat in the baby room was torn. Please replace. 2. Thermometer was missing from the fridge in the baby room. Please place a thermometer in the fridge. 3. Toy cleaning procedures are inconsistent. Please develop and implement a consistent toy cleaning procedure.
