      • -Written procedures for cleansing of skin and client care in an event of accidental cut and puncture were not available.The written procedures were reviewed with the operator.

    • 13. Is single-use or uncleanable equipment being used as intended (Critical)?
      • - Single-use equipment (Buffers) were not being discarded after each use. Equipment must be discarded after use on one client if the manufacturer labels it as: single-use, not for reuse, do not reuse, disposable, discard after single-use, or do not use twice.The operator discarded the used buffers upon PHI's request.-Roll-on wax heater with cartridges were observed in the facility. The operator voluntarily removed the roll-on wax heater and cartridges from the service area.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • - Semi-critical equipment (Callus remover) is not being fully immersed in the high-level disinfectant during the disinfection process. Ensure equipment is fully immersed in solution.- High level disinfectants are not being tested and verified daily using proper test strips. The operator was using Pool and Spa test strips to test Pre-empt CS20 (7% accelerated hydrogen peroxide). Ensure the high-level disinfectant is tested daily using the test strips specified by the disinfectant manufacturer.
    • 26. Are cosmetic products appropriate for their intended use and being handled properly?
      • - Steps are not being taken to protect the contamination of the bulk supply of pedicure scrub. Ensure that measures are put in place so pedicure scrub is dispensed without contaminating the bulk supply.-Single use implements were not being used to dispense product (pedicure scrub); a plastic spoon was being stored inside the product. Ensure that spoons are not stored inside product and only single use implements are used to dispense product.
