      • Fridge in infant room was at temperature of 7 to 8C. Temperatures for the fridge are being logged at recorded consistently at 3C.

    • 03. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Critical)?
      • -The cupboards used to store chemicals in the kitchen were not secured. Please ensure chemicals are secured or kept out of children’s reach.
    • 04. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Non-Critical)?
      • -There were colourful foam blocks in the Baby Room with bite marks. These can be a choking hazard and makes the blocks difficult to clean. Please remove damaged foam blocks. The use of these blocks is not recommended.
    • 11. Are parent provided foods being properly handled and stored to ensure the safety of clients in this social care facility?
      • -Not all of the water bottles from home were appropriately labeled. Please ensure that water bottles are labeled.
    • 24. Are sleeping supplies and areas sufficient to ensure client safety and comfort (Non-Critical)?
      • -Several sleeping mats had holes. Please go through sleeping mats and repair/replace damaged mats as necessary.
    • 31. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Critical)?
      • -There was baby powder observed in the Toddler Room. Please remove as this product is not allowed due to potential respiratory concerns.

    • 03. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Critical)?
      • -Chemicals for this social care facility are not being handled or stored in a proper manner: - Mop water was left accessible in the hallway. Please empty mop water after each use.-The door was left open on the room where laundry detergent was stored. Laundry detergent was stored on a lower shelf. Please move chemicals out of reach or ensure door is kept locked.
    • 04. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Non-Critical)?
      • -The following potential hazards were noted:- Bingo dabbers were noted in the Toddler and Pre-school room that were labelled “keep away from children.” Pleas ensure that only non-toxic bingo dabbers are used.-There was a small round area rug in the Baby Room that was rolling up. Please repair or remove-There was a carpet beginning to unravel in the Kinder/OSC Room. Please address.
    • 13. Is this facility properly heated to ensure client comfort (Critical)?
      • -This social care facility is not being kept at a suitable temperature (20C). The Kinder/OSC Room was measured at 17-18C. Please ensure and HVAC contractor is contacted and that they provide a report.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • -Tape on the Baby Room and Kinder/OSC Room floor was peeling and unclean. If tape is going to be used on the floor please ensure it is thoroughly cleaned.
    • 30. Are workers washing hands when appropriate and/or in a proper manner?
      • -Staff in the Baby Room were observed changing gloves to wipe noses but not washing hands. Ensure that staff know that glove use is not a replacement for handwashing. Hands need to be washed when gloves are removed.
