      • The PHI was able to confirm that there are 2 live chickens within this facility.As there was no application by the operator to have these live chickens inside a facility that also has a food kitchen and a food bank - this is the violation.The PHI has sent a letter to the operator, dated March 16, 2026 - to request a set of information for review.Once the review has been completed and the PHI is satisfied that all necessary precautions have been met, the 2 live chickens will be eligible to remain, where they are currently located at the facility.
    • 22. Are utensils and equipment maintained in a condition and a manner that ensures the safe handling of food?
      • The bare wood base for the large Hobart mixer is dirty and not sealed.Please replace this wood base with new wood that is painted - this will make it easier to keep it clean.

      • In the kitchen:1. there is a lower shelf, over a work table, that is bare wood.This bare wood shelf will need to be painted.2. there is an unpainted area of gyproc to the left of the kitchen stove. The plan for this is to create a pass-thru window from the kitchen to the public serving area.When this pass-thru window is created, it will need to have all surfaces to be smooth, sealed and impervious to water - to make for easy cleaning.Also, when this work takes place, you cannot be cooking food at the same time as renovations are happening.
