    • 21. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Critical)?
      • Nova Room: Hand washing sink - a hose is connected below the sink which runs along the wall and then goes through the wall to be drained outside on the lawn. P-trap is also missing as gravity is used for drainage. The drainage system is not installed properly and according to the plumbing code. Contact a certified plumber and make necessary repairs immediately.

      • Mechanical room: There is a hole on the exterior wall. This was created to run a garden hose from the mechanical room to the outside for the purpose of watering the lawn. Ensure a proper exterior faucet is installed for the garden hose. This should be done according to the plumbing code. Contact a certified plumber and make necessary repairs immediately. If not, then seal the hole to prevent entry of pest.

      • At time of inspection:1. The director of this facility has indicated that they have already purchased two (2) sanitary mats (that are non-porous to moisture and easy to clean) in order to change diapers properly while laying down (i.e. when a child needs to be changed close to the floor surface). It was indicated that children will no longer be placed directly onto any floor surface (i.e. laying on the floor or equivalent - directly) in order to have their diapers changed. *****THEREFORE, THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN ADDRESSED.

      • There are internet outlets (not use) that do not have child proof covers.Ensure internet outlets not in use have a blank no device wall plate.

      • Storage room under the stairs: door is not lockable. Ensure door is lockable and kept locked at all times to prevent client access.

      • Cabinets underneath the hand-washing sinks in client rooms do not have child safety locks. Ensure child safety locks are installed on all cabinets underneath the hand-washing sink.

      • There are a few fire exit doors located inside client rooms. These doors are not locked, and clients can easily access restricted/hazardous areas.Consult with the Fire Department and find alternative locking devices that will be acceptable.

      • Water temperature is either cold or too hot at the hand-washing sinks inside the facility. Ensure all water temperature is adjusted at the handwashing so that is lukewarm.
