      • -Silicone eyepads were visibly stained. These need to be cleaned and disinfected after each use and disposed of when they are no longer easy to clean
    • 28. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained to allow for the safe and sanitary provision of personal services (Critical)?
      • - The personal service facility is not adequately supplied with hot and cold running water. Ensure that potable hot/cold water is available at both the washroom sink and the reprocessing sink.

    • 02. Has the operator notified the RHA of the existence of a personal service business, including contact and location information, as well as all personal services currently offered or new personal services that will be offered for facilities and/or special events?
      • -The operator has not notified EPH of the business and activities that the business currently offers. Please submit all applicable information to the RHA as soon as possible
    • 05. Are written procedures reviewed and revised when required, and do they meet the requirements set out in the standards?
      • -Written procedures were available but not appropriate:*Indicate that tools should be soaked in Pre-empt CS20 for 15 minutes but the requirement is 20 minutes*There were no procedures for skin cleansing; staff indicated that rubbing alcohol is used to cleanse skin
    • 08. Is hand hygiene performed by the personal services worker when required, in a proper manner and are provisions available to perform hand hygiene?
      • -A staff member was observed taking a new customer and not washing their hands prior to the service. Hand hygiene should be performed before and after each service.

      • -The washroom sink did not have paper towel for drying hands. Please ensure that handwashing supplies are available at all times.

      • - Cleansing of the skin is not being done prior to a service that may involve contact with mucous membrane, or that will puncture or may potentially break skin. Staff on-site indicated that rubbing alcohol is used. Ensure cleansing is done with an appropriate skin cleanser.

      • The following concerns were noted:-Pre-empt CS20 was available in a bottle but not in a container for soaking-The container that staff indicated tools are soaked in was not large enough to fully immerse tools-Test strips were not the proper ones to use with Pre-empt CS20-Records were available but had not been filled out in months-Written procedures indicate that tools should be soaked for 15 minutes but instructions for Pre-empt CS20 are for complete immersion for 20 minutes
