- 03. Are facility-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices?
- A written procedures template for skin cleansing was provided during the inspection. The operator also noted to the PHI trainee that they had their own skin cleansing instructions that are sent to clients before services begin.
- 04. Are business-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices in a mobile business?
- Business-specific written procedures describing relevant safe and sanitary practices for mobile businesses were not available, including for hand hygiene, transportation, handling of single-use equipment, cleaning and disinfection of client service areas, and storage of equipment. Please ensure that detailed written procedures outlining the above are present with you onsite whenever you are conducting personal services such as henna application.
- 10. Is cleansing and antisepsis of skin and mucous membrane performed in accordance to written procedures and are suitable products being used?
- Skin cleansing is performed by clients before services begin as directed verbally and in writing by the operator, including using suitable products (soap and water). The PHI did not observe the operator's written procedures for skin cleansing at the time of inspection, so a written skin cleansing template was provided for added detail.
- 26. Are cosmetic products appropriate for their intended use and being handled properly?
- While henna-leaf paste is stored and handled properly, there is no labelling on the paste indicating the manufacturer instructions for use and the full list of ingredients in the paste. Please reach out to your manufacturer (henna-leaf powder) as well as your source for henna paste (e.g., the supplier who mixes the power into paste) for a full list of ingredients labelled with each batch of henna-leaf powder and/or paste.
