    • 07. Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Critical)?
      • Suspected mold growth was observed at the bottom of the cardboard box containing packaged food items under CFIA detention.- Discard affected cardboard packaging and any potentially contaminated food items.
    • 08. Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Non-Critical)?
      • Food items under the CFIA detention including but not limited to: palm 'red' oil, beans, and grains were observed stored in unlabeled and repurposed containers of unknown food-grade suitability. - Discard all potentially contaminated food items.- In future, ensure all food is stored in clearly labeled food-grade containers.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • Mouse droppings noted in several areas of the facility including but not limited to underneath and around the storage shelves, near the walk-in freezer door, and in the corners of carpeted room at the front of the facility.- Operator is to ensure to remove droppings using appropriate methods and thoroughly clean and sanitize all the areas.- Ensure that adequate pest control is taking place in the facility.**April 28, 2026: Mouse droppings were observed in hard-to-reach areas of the facility. Reduction of droppings was noted in previously identified areas, underneath front storage shelves, and near walk-in freezer door, indicating partial cleaning.- Thoroughly remove all remaining mouse droppings using approved cleaning methods.

      • Dead pests (insects) were observed on the exterior of the packaged food items and cardboard boxes that were under the CFIA detention. - Ensure all food products are protected from contamination and discard contaminated food.- Implement remediation measures for additional pest activity.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • Weather stripping on the back bay door was in disrepair, leaving visible gaps at the right bottom of the door.- Please eliminate the gaps to prevent potential pest entry.
    • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
      • *Ongoing Violation*Water damage and holes were noted in the drywall beside the man door.- Repair or replace the damaged drywall and seal the holes.**April 28, 2026: Operator indicated they have initiated communication with the landlord regarding repairs, but completion timeline was not confirmed.

      • The back bay door was propped open. Operator closed the door during inspection.- Ensure that the bay door remains closed when not in active use to prevent potential pest entry, an maintain sanitary conditions.

      • Food Handling Permit (FHP) displayed at the facility was expired and not valid. - Please ensure a valid FHP is displayed in a conspicuous place at the facility.

    • 03. Is all food in this facility fit for human consumption and not unwholesome, spoiled, or adulterated?
      • Inspector observed several pallets of boxed products outside the facility. Operator stated the delivery of shipment of cassava leaves were deemed unfit for consumption upon inspection after receiving to warehouse and have been scheduled for pickup for disposal. Product is to be picked up March 21 2024 for disposal by Waste Connections. Ensure all items are disposed and a receipt provided to AHS for the disposoal. Include documentation of quantity disposed.
    • 19. Does the facility have a valid permit and does the facility operate in compliance with the conditions of that permit, or is the facility awaiting approval prior to operation?
      • Facility had been operating as of 2022 without a valid Food Permit. Inspected and confirmed business can operate as a warehouse facility for transitional warehouse storage for customer pickup. Permit application completed onsite.
