      • Light fixture without cover observed in preschool washroom.-Please provide suitable cover or ensure the bulbs are shatter proof to prevent the risk of injury in an event of bulb breakage.
    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • The diaper mat currently in use in the bay room is torn and covered with a fabric material, making it unsuitable for hygienic use. -Please replace the diaper mat with one that has a smooth, non-absorbent, and easy-to-clean surface
    • 09. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) available in suitable location(s), and properly stocked with handwashing supplies?
      • Paper towels in the baby room are currently stored in an open basket, which exposes them to potential bulk contamination. -Please provide and install a suitable paper towel dispenser that ensures sanitary storage and a paper towel at a time access.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • Walls with peeling paint and without floorboard were noted in the preschool classroom.-Please repaint and provide floorboard in the indicated area to ensure good repair.

      • Children's water bottles without name tags were noted in preschool classroom.-Please label all children's water bottles with their names to prevent mix up and inappropriate use.

    • 04. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Non-Critical)?
      • The toddler/infant room had staples and pushpins to hold papers, art, etc. on the wall.REQUIREMENT: Remove the pushpins. If staples are used, cover the staple with tape to help prevent it from falling off to the ground; Alternatively, use only tape to support these objects.
    • 19. Are indoor play areas and equipment sufficient and being properly maintained to ensure client safety (Critical)?
      • There was an electronic 'Tickle-Me-Elmo' doll for children to play with in the pre-school room. This doll cannot be laundered and hot air dried due to the unremovable electronic components.REQUIREMENT: Remove this toy from the centre. Do not bring in electronic plush toys unless the electronic components can be fully removed.
    • 22. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Non-Critical)?
      • The water temperature at the children's handwashing sinks at the toddler/infant room's bathroom were measured to be 17C. This temperature could discourage children from routinely washing their hands.REQUIREMENT: Increase the temperature to a comfortable temperature (ranging between 26-40C).

      • 1) Spray bottles containing chemicals in the toddler/infant room's bathroom were not spraying.2) Spray bottles containing chemicals in the toddler/infant room's bathroom were not properly labelled.REQUIREMENT: Ensure spray bottles are properly operating and labelled.
