- 305 - Conditions observed that may allow entrance/harbouring/breeding of pests [s. 26(b),(c)]
- Observation: Weather-strip of the recieving door leading to the outdoor area had a gap/opening. (Public Health Significance) - Opening/gap on the recieving door can serve as an entry point for pests into the facility.These pests can contaminate food and cause food-borne illness.
- Corrective Action: Ensure that weather-strip of the recieving door is repaired/fixed such that there are no gaps or openings.
- 308 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces are not in good working order [s. 16(b)]
- Observation: Flooring of the recieving area was observed to be damaged, worn off and raw wood was observed to be exposed. (Public health significance) - Flooring that is damaged and exposed to raw wood can absorb moisture and harbour illness causing pathogens. Furthermore, it also challenges cleaning and sanitation measures.
- Corrective Action: Ensure that the flooring of the recieving door is repaired such that it is smooth, non- absorbent and impervious to moisture.
