    • 03. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Critical)?
      • **There were loose tacs on top of a shelf in the Pre-school Room. Ensure tacs are stored secured to prevent them from being accessible to children.
    • 05. Are communicable diseases at this facility being properly managed?
      • **Illness logs were not being kept. Alberta Health Services needs to be notified when there are one or more individuals employed by or under the care of this facility infected with a communicable modifiable disease; and/or that there is an unusually high rate of any illness present within the facility.
    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • **Diapering procedures are not adequate:-Ensure diapering procedures are posted in all diapering areas-Ensure that mats are cleaned and sanitized both on the top and bottom-Ensure the diapering surface is cleaned and sanitized between each child-Ensure hands both the child and staff members hands are washed after each diaper change-If a floor mat is going to be used, then it needs to be stored out of reach of children when not in use. Diapering needs to be done next to a designated hand washing sink.**The correct diapering sink was not being used. Ensure that designated diapering sinks are used for handwashing only.
    • 10. Is a properly supplied first aid kit provided and readily available?
      • **First aid supplies were not adequate. Ensure first aid supplies are restocked to meet requirements. (Information to be sent with report)
    • 15. Is laundry being properly handled in a suitable manner?
      • **Used cloths were left on counters. Please ensure that cloths are used once and then placed in a dirty laundry bin. It is strongly recommended to have bins in each room for both clean and dirty cloths.
    • 28. Are washrooms / bathing facilities properly constructed, maintained and supplied (Critical)?
      • **There was no toilet paper or paper towel in the Explorers Room washroom. Ensure washrooms are stocked with supplies at all times.
