    • 09. Are chemicals stored and handled in a safe manner?
      • The spray bottle of chlorine sanitizer was not labelled. Label as to its contents. Corrected during inspection.
    • 12. Are there adequate and properly operating dish washing facilities to effectively clean and sanitize equipment and utensils (unless noted elsewhere)(Non-Critical)?
      • Dishwasher rinse temperature (at dish level) was not being checked with a thermometer. Please use thermometer to check (to reach at least 71C) and should record temperature.
    • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
      • There is a leak from the two compartment sink and it has damaged the bottom of the cabinet underneath. Repair leak and fix cabinet (ensure any moldy material removed).There was moldy cardboard under the chemicals for the dishmachine (mold as a result of moisture due to leak from two compartment sink). Cardboard was removed. Put the chemicals in a plastic bin instead in the event of leaks. Corrected during inspection.The waterproof finish is wearing off the front of the cabinets under the sink. Refinish/reseal the front of the cabinet.Arborite coming up slightly at seams in front of service window. Please repair.

      • Eggs were being stored above fruit in the fridge. Corrected during inspection; fruit was moved.
    • 08. Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Non-Critical)?
      • Personal items were being store on the same shelf as food items in the brown cupboard. Corrected during inspection; items rearranged to keep personal items (purses, etc.) on a separate shelf.
    • 19. Does the facility have a valid permit and does the facility operate in compliance with the conditions of that permit, or is the facility awaiting approval prior to operation?
      • Expired permit was on display. Please post current food permit.
    • 20. Do food handlers at the facility have adequate food safety training?
      • Unknown if any staff have taken a Provincial Food Safety Course. Is so, please provide copy of certificate. If now, a staff member will need to take a course that provides Provincial Certification.
    • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
      • Plastic backsplash is coming off the wall. Please replace.Some of the seams of the arborite countertop are coming apart. To be repaired or replaced.
    • 22. Are utensils and equipment maintained in a condition and a manner that ensures the safe handling of food?
      • Some utensils in a drawer with clean ones still had some food debris on them. Corrected during inspection; were put into dishwasher.There were several cracked plates and bowls. Please discard the damaged utensils.
