      • Electrical outlets in (Daycare washroom & library) were accessible to clients and were not covered with safety outlets covers.Staff covered electrical outlets in the washroom.Ensure all electrical outlets accessible to clients are kept covered with safety covers.
    • 05. Are communicable diseases at this facility being properly managed?
      • Facility uses super spill pack (which cleans, binds & deodorizes) vomitus or other food spills.Ensure chlorine-based disinfectant readily available at facility is used to disinfect surfaces which are contaminated with bodily fluids, vomitus, bloods or faeces. Ensure surfaces are properly cleaned first before disinfecting.
    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • Lysol is being used to disinfect diapering surfaces.Ensure chlorine-based solution readily available is used to disinfect diapering surfaces.
    • 09. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) available in suitable location(s), and properly stocked with handwashing supplies?
      • There was no soap at handwash sink in the washroom of daycare room. Staff indicated other handwash sink in the room is used for handwashing after washroom use.A liquid handwash soap was placed at the handwash sink in the washroom.Ensure handwash within the washroom is used for handwashing after the use of washroom.

    • 25. Are there adequate storage areas sufficient for the operation of the facility?
      • Items such as extra craft supplies, pool noodles, and extra sleeping matts are stored in the washroom. Please ensure to:-Store items in an enclosed cabinet with doors to protect against potential fecal/aerosolized contamination. or-Remove all stored items from the washroom.Update November 5, 2024: Items are almost completely stored in bins, a few items remain. Staff indicated the last few storage bins need to be ordered.

      • The diapering safety belt is missing on the change table. Please install the safety belt and ensure all change tables have a diapering safety belt.

      • Items such as extra craft supplies, pool noodles, and extra sleeping matts are stored in the washroom. Please ensure to:-Store items in an enclosed cabinet with doors to protect against potential fecal/aerosolized contamination. or-Remove all stored items from the washroom.

      • PCS micro clean is in use in the facility, the chemical does not have a DIN (drug Identification number) or disinfection instructions. Please ensure to use one of the following chemicals:-Chlorine bleach sanitizer: to mix chlorine bleach place 1/2 tsp of bleach in 1L of water. -0.5% hydrogen peroxide solution. Please ensure the chemical is labelled with the following information:-A DIN-Disinfection instructions.-A disinfection claim. Please have appropriate test strips for the chemical in use at the facility.
