      • Observation: Produce department cutting board appears in well worn condition with numerous deep knife groove marks.
      • Corrective Action(s): Resurface or replace cutting board such that deep knife marks are no longer present such that the surface is smooth and easy to clean.

      • Observation: Significant mouse and fly activity noted inside the store.
      • Corrective Action(s): In addition to having your pest control company service for mice, servicing for flies is also required. Have fly lights installed in departments and throughout the store, in locations away from food preparation, open food, or exposed food-related equipment (such that dead flies cannot fall into food/food-related equipment).
      • Also refer to complaint report (#YTAN-D83RE4) regarding require actions for the mouse issue.

    • 304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
      • Observation: Observed numerous rodent droppings in the back storage area, especially behind unloaded crates closer to the delivery stations. Operator indicated that pest inspector noted possible harbourage area and that is where most droppings were found.
      • Corrective Action(s): Required operator to clean and sanitize the area where droppings were found. Removing droppings is required not only for sanitary purposes, but also for monitoring reasons. By cleaning the droppings, operator can check if there is current pest activities in the area.

      • Observation: Observed entrance points for pests by the loading dock. Harbouring area also noted in the back dry storage area. Staff indicated that pest control is conducted by a third party company regularly.
      • Corrective Action(s): Required operator to eliminate all entrance points for pests. All harbourage areas for pests must be removed.
